Can i have treatment on NHS i have mouth ulcers and crooked teeth

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008
Q.
I suffer with severe mouth ulcers but have crooked teeth that i am very concious over and would like to be straightened but i have been told that having a brace would just cause even more discomfort for my ulcers. is there any other alternative brace other than having a ‘train track’ type that would cause me discomfort, or any other type of surgery that could straighten my teeth. I am 19 and in full time education so would be enquiring as to prices aswell and if i would be able to get any of this surgery on the NHS. Thank you for your help.

what is the cost of new braces

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008
Q.
I am 17 years of age and have had braces in the past. However when I had my braces I was younger and didn’t really appreciate them. This resulted in some of my teeth becoming wonly soon after my braces were removed. I would very much like to have braces once more but realise I would now have to pay for them, could you tell me how much this would cost?

Which braces can I use to straighten my teeth that are cheaper

Friday, August 8th, 2008
Q.
I am after having my teeth straightened. However would prefer to not use the traditional orthodontic braces. Therefore i was wondering if i could choose from the selection described on this site, or is that what the orthodontics would decide on my arrival? Also, which brace fitted would averagely turn out to be cheaper? I was also considering veneers to alter them, would i have to do my whole mouth? and are they really not permanent? Thank you =) x

I am HIV possitive and want invisalign

Thursday, August 7th, 2008
Q.
I have read about, invisalign, I am hiv positive and just want to find out if there are any effects of going ahead with the treatment. I am in good health besides HIV, if this is not suitable is there any other alternative as i am fed up with my gap tooth, and i am losing the smile. Can this be done on NHS or it has to be private. Your answers will be much appreciated, thank you

I want to remove my baby teeth after invisalign treatment

Thursday, July 31st, 2008
Q.
Dear Dr. Caplan, I am currently having my teeth straightened using Invisalign and will be doing so for the next 8 months. My teeth have become crooked over the years (I am in my late 20’s) as a result of a baby tooth that has been stubborn and remained in my mouth. As such, I am straightening the teeth and then want to remove the cause of the crookedness (i.e. the baby tooth). I’m therefore thinking of removing the guilty tooth and inserting an implant into the jaw. The tooth in question is my upper Canine (I think it corresponds to number 6 on the dental charts). I have read quite a bit of literature but am hoping you can answer some of my questions if possible. 1.) I’ve been told that I will need to wear the final aligner in the Invisalign set for a good 3-6 months to ensure the teeth have time to settle in their final position. Assuming the baby tooth survives the forces from the Invisalign treatment, can I use these 3-6 months to remove the baby tooth and immediately fit the implant into the created hole (I read the treatment would need 3-6 months for the titanium implant to bond with my bone)? If this is so, can I then have the canine position on the inside of the aligner coated white, to look like a ‘fake’ tooth? My reason for this query is that the canine position will be very visible and I was hoping I could use the aligner to help mask the gap in my teeth! 2.) Having looked at implants, I would like an experts opinion on the use of modern all-ceramic crowns for implants. I like the look of the CEREC based crowns using Mark II blocks. However, I don’t know how much of my interest is just down to Vita’s good marketing and whether there are better alternatives on the market! If there is, I would very much appreciate your advice on the subject! What are your opinions of PFMs? 3.) Do you happen to know how much the process would cost with an all-ceramic crown in the UK? 4.) Could you recommend a decent dentist in the Cambridgeshire area that do ceramic crowns + implants? 5.) How common is it for UK-based dentists to stain the CEREC restorations and is this part of the normal procedure or does it cost extra? Thanks so much for the advice!

my top teeth are misaligned and bottom teeth crooked would invisalign work

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008
Q.
Hello, I have top teeth which are out of alignment due to having one tooth removed on the right hand side when I was a child – consequently, my teeth have shifted to the right by about 7 mm resulting in one of my two top teeth being right in the centre, rather than side by side. I also have crooked bottom teeth. please could you let me know if invisalign would be a solution – also would I have to have teeth removed to correct the mis-alignment.many thanks.

my veneer is too thick can I get lumineers and invisaline

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008
Q.
I had a root canal about 4 years ago on my front tooth from a back break. i had a veneer, or thats what they said it was. but now i noticed the veneer doesn’t match at all to my other tooth, my gums are purple and the veneer is too thick, it’s just really noticeable. i was wondering if i should get lumineers put on both my front teeth so they will match, but i was wondering if it would be tooth think and be noticeable. also if i could still get invisaline, will it pull the lumineers off? i just want to be able to smile and not feel so conscious of my teeth. i’m a teen and i’m always close to people and like to hang around a lot of people. thank you
