Hi, I had braces when i was in high school. they were on for 18 months i think. the top ones were removed first and slowly i started noticing an overlap on my front teeth. In 2008 i had the overlapped tooth filed a little so it wouldn’t look so out of place. have a few questions: (1) will the filing down of my tooth affect the end result should i wish to have my overlap straightened? (2) what would be the most cost effective yet permanent solution which is not obvious? (3) I have fixed retainers on the back of my bottom front teeth (from high school days), are they meant to be there for life?,
