Teeth extracted for infection

Sunday, March 29th, 2009
Q.
Hi there- I had 2 teeth extracted today. I went in expecting to be prescribed antibiotics to get rid of the infection I have(which is causing my face to swell!) and he went ahead and extracted them. One of which was VERY painful. I was not prescribed any pain medication or antibiotics to take care of the infection. Should I see a 2nd dr?

I recently broke half of my back upper tooth off by biting into a subway sandwich that had an olive pit in it. since then i have been having severe pain in my tooth. And getting really bad headaches. I dont have an income right now so it would be really hard to go see a dentist. could i get an infection from this? Is it life threatning if its not taken care of soon?

Will the crown have to be removed and the root canals cleared?

Saturday, March 28th, 2009
Q.
I have a problem with one of my lower right side teeth. It had a root filing around 1990 with no problems. About 5 years ago the dead tooth stated to break up and so about 2 years ago it was fitted with a crown again with no immediate problems. However about a year ago I stated to get small abscess in the outside gum just below the crown line. It would occasionally bust releasing a small amount of milky fluid and then heal but only to reoccur a few week later. Now the discharge is more puss and erupts every 4 to 5 days. I can feel the pressure of the build up increasing in the interim. I presume I have an infection in one of the root canals? Will the crown have to be removed and the root canals cleared? Many thanks for your advice.

Infection around the implant

Saturday, March 28th, 2009
Q.
I have an implant of the 4 teeth at the upper front for the last 4 years, never had a problem until recently when I could feel something swelling at the back of the front teeth, it eventually burst and a lot of puss came out, I went to see my dentist and took an x ray and told me that I have a big infection near one of the implant, at present he is not sure what to do, he gave me antibiotics for one week and then I have to see him to decide what it could be the best procedure. Can you please advice me? options at present are: to remove the implant and replace it or to open up the implant and wash it off but before to take a scan in 3 dimention.

I have radiating pain in my upper teeth

Thursday, December 11th, 2008
Q.
Hi, I have radiating pain in my upper teeth. I believed it is one of the upper molar. There is nothing wrong with the tooth but I can feel sharp pain radiating. Sometimes, the pain goes away entirely. The gums are bleeding when I floss. Do I need a root canal? I’m scared since I’ve already had two in the past month.
