Hi Mark. About 3 years ago I had all my upper teeth out by a previous dentist, this should have been avoided, rather than persist with repairing my teeth, they were extracted one by one until they were all gone over a short time. My problem is, I don’t have enough bone for implants, this is slowly getting worse as time goes on. I don’t qualify for free implants and cannot afford to pay myself. I am 55 and the dentist that pulled the teeth said she is not prepared to do implant on the NHS as it’s not cost effective. I had 3 dentures made but none of them are any good. I suffer from gagging so my dentures were made without much
of the roof of the mouth intact. I’d like advice to what I can do next? Many thanks.

I Suffer From Gagging Through My Dentures But I Can’t Afford Implants. What Should I Do?
Thursday, May 1st, 2014I’m Scared To Have Another Root Canal In Case It Needs Extracting. What Are My Other Options?
Friday, April 11th, 2014Hi Dr Moore. I had root canal many years ago, but it didn’t really cure the infections and I was always in pain. In the end I had to have both teeth extracted. I take great care with my teeth to the extent I have become a bit paranoid. I have now developed another infection which I am told I will have to have either root canal or extraction. I am petrified to have this done in case I lose another tooth, I will also have no teeth on my upper left jaw. What are my options? Thank you in advance for your reply.
I Had An Apicoectomy Last Week. Will My Gums Grow Back And How Long Will It Take To Heal?
Thursday, April 10th, 2014Hello Dr Hughes. I had an attempted apicoectomy last week. He cut a lot of my gum to expose tooth number 19. Because of an infection the Dr felt he did not want to take any more bone away and I should go the implant route. He closed me up. My gums along the tooth and teeth 20 21 22 are very exposed and sore. I feel as if the roots are partially exposed like I had significant recession. Will this gum grow back and what should I do if it doesn’t? I am in quite a bit of pain at the moment. Could you help me and tell me what I should do. Thank you.
My Molar Will Only Last 2/3 Years. Is There Any Treatment I Can Have To Make It Last?
Thursday, March 20th, 2014Hi Riten. I’ve had one of my back molars removed three years ago (I don’t believe it should have been removed as the dentist failed to perform a root canal and decided to remove it). That being said the molar next to it has had root canal treatment. My question is how can this tooth be protected and can it be retreated with a ‘new’ root canal? My dentist thinks it won’t last more than another 2/3 years as an estimate and has suggested capping it? I am looking for a more long term solution. I am 32. The other side is fine and usable with minor fillings.
Am I Too Old For Implants?
Monday, March 17th, 2014Hello there, I wondered if you could help me with my problem. I am a sixty-one year old woman, and have had two large gaps on either side of my lower jaw since I was a child. I have experimented with dentures in the past, but I found them to be an inconvenience to me. Would you say I was too old for dental implants, and are my gums too thin to have implants fitted? A big problem I have is that I find that I struggle when it comes to chewing food, and have always wanted to have my teeth sorted out professionally. I do not have many teeth, and I would really like to have a full set of working ones! Thank you.
I’m Not Sure About The Price I’ve Been Quoted For A Ceramic Bridge. Should I Opt For An Implant Instead?
Friday, February 28th, 2014Hello Andrew. I have been quoted by my dentist £1995 for a ceramic bridge ( metal base I think ). It’s for the back teeth on one side, I thought there was one tooth missing but he says there is two missing. This price seems very high to me, it is a private clinic, with a very good reputation. I was originally going to opt for an implant as I had been told by a previous dental practice that a bridge wasn’t a viable option. Can you advise on what would be the best course of action to take next? Thank you for your time.
What Are My Options When It Comes To Closing The Gaps In My Teeth?
Thursday, February 27th, 2014Hi Mark, I just wanted to ask a question regarding the gaps between my teeth. My 4 front teeth on the top of my mouth seem way too small for my jaw and therefore there are gaps in between each tooth, which are very dominant. My 4 front teeth on my bottom row also seem to have minor gaps in between them. They’ve been like this ever since I was young, I am now 20 years old. I was just wondering what my options are when it comes to getting these gaps closed?
Thank you.
I Have Badly Decayed Front Teeth And Would Like To What It Would Cost To Fix This?
Thursday, February 20th, 2014Hello Dr Moore, I’m looking for some general cosmetic dentistry costs? I have badly decayed teeth. My front teeth are decayed due to rural unpurified water. I am also a smoker for going on 13 years. I might need implants but I also want to consult a dentist before I undergo treatment. Please assist me in estimating the required fee. I also suggested to go for teeth whitening but I’m afraid because of the expensive treatment procedures. Any help you can offer me will be greatly received.
