Hello Dr Moore, I have a question I’ve been wondering about. Can a Maryland bridge be used for double teeth or are they only for the front single teeth?
I have a double tooth snapped off and I wonder if once extracted it could be replaced with a Maryland bridge.
I also have a single tooth snapped off that I think needs to be extracted. The single tooth is next to a tooth that has one side of the metal wing of the Maryland bridge attached to it. Is it possible to attach another wing to the same tooth? Thanks for answering my question, it’s much appreciated.

I Would Like To Know If A Maryland Bridge Is At All Suitable For Double Teeth?
Friday, October 11th, 2013I Had Work Done Abroad And I Need To Find A UK Dentist To Fix A Clip That Has Broken On One Of The Bars?
Friday, September 20th, 2013Hello Dr Moore, I really hope you can help me. I have complete over-dentures supported by Eight implants, this work was carried out in Malta, but I cannot go back at this time. One of the bars that engage with the clips has broken and I am fearful that the remaining one will go so I need to find someone in the UK who can fix it. The system is Royal Biocare. The last time I had a problem with the clips I tried to get help from all the NHS dental help lines but to no avail because I had the work done privately, they couldn’t give me any helpful advice. I can only be away for a day as my husband is ill. Can you suggest anything that I could do?
Do One Day Implants Really Work And Can I Have a Bridge with Veneers?
Tuesday, August 6th, 2013I have 4 front porcelain veneers and need to remove tooth number 8 due to a root deterioration (I had a root canal at a early age and I currently have had an infection on root of tooth 8 for while now with gum separation and have already had 2 apicoectomys done). I am trying to decide between an implant or bridge (conventional or Maryland). Prosthodontist said I could go for a bridge due to already having veneers and a possible color difference if I did implant. I have a real anxiety issue about implants because if it is too long of a process then I don’t think I can go for so long with a temporary or flipper (emotionally speaking). My questions are:
My Crown Has Fallen off the Implant, Do I Have To Have The Treatment Done Again?
Friday, August 2nd, 2013I had an implant and crown put in three years ago never had any problem until yesterday morning. I was eating and the crown fell off the implant. I found the crown and the smell was so bad I had to run brush my teeth and rinse my mouth out. I noticed that the implant post is still in there but the crown I have in my hand, Do I have to go and have the procedure done all over again from the beginning or will they just reattached the crown to the implant again? Please help as I am unsure whether I have to pay the 5000 dollars again or not.
Would Braces Work To Close My Gap And Eliminate My Overlap?
Thursday, July 11th, 2013Would you close a gap due to extraction with an implant or braces. My front teeth slightly overlap, and as I have lost a tooth 6th from the front, I thought braces could pull the teeth back and close the gap, with bringing the 8th tooth forward slightly. I thought this could kill two birds with one stone, as I would lose the overlapping at the front, and also fill the gap. I spoke to my dentist and he won’t advise me on the best way, and I need a professional to tell me the best way forward please. The tooth was extracted quite a few years ago, so I would need a bone graft if I were to have an implant, My dentist has said that if I were to have braces, my centre line would be off, and he would either need to extract a tooth on the other side, or shave the front teeth. He also said he couldn’t be sure but he thinks I will get a black triangle between my front teeth once the overlapping is corrected. I really don’t know which is the best option. If I go with the implant, I will still have the crossed over teeth but the gap will be filled. If I go with the braces, both problems could be sorted, but there is much more interference with healthy teeth, ie getting teeth shaved and maybe another tooth extraction.
What would you think would be the best way forward?
My Front Tooth Has Been A Nightmare For The Past Ten Years, Am I Eligible For An Implant?
Monday, June 10th, 2013I have been reading “guidelines for selecting appropriate patients to receive treatment with dental implants guidelines” and it was just an email for some advice or to ask who I could seek advice from.
I had an accident when I was about 10 years old that caused me to loose my front tooth. This tooth was then put back into place and I received antibiotic treatment for a long while. I had a veneer put into place when I was 16, however due to recurrent infection my dentist at the time told me that my body was rejecting the tooth And it would need to be replaced with an implant in the future. Since the age of 13/14 I go through recurrent episodes of pain and visible abscess’ which the dentist had stopped giving me antibiotics for as he said they wouldn’t work. I recently fainted at work and broke my veneer and after visiting my dentist I was told that he could replace it with a crown but the root of the tooth has eroded that much I’ve probably got a year to two before it will fall out or need to be removed.
I wanted to know if/ where I would fit into the implant guidelines and who to talk to as my dentist has not been very helpful. I am only 21 and this has been an on going issue since the age of 10 which I would love to just be over.
Do I Really Need To Get A Bridge?
Friday, April 26th, 2013Hello there – I wonder if you can help. I am 50+ and have always retained 2 of my “baby” teeth (at the upper front) One of these recently broke (I have it reattached temporarily) and I would prefer an implant as opposed to a bridge. I have been advised that the gap will be too small to accommodate an implant…..I have been to a cosmetic dentist in Nottingham for a 2nd opinion and he also is of this opinion……Do I really need to resort to having a bridge? I’m not too ken to be perfectly honest. I would rather just have an implant but I thought I would ask you as well, hope to hear from you soon. Many thanks – Kind regards.
