How Much Would It Cost to Have an Upper Implanted Denture?

Monday, November 14th, 2016
Q.

Can you tell me if you can provide sedation, and just a ball park price for an implanted upper denture? I just want to get an idea, I understand that many issues can affect the price, but I would still like to know, thank you. I will need 5 upper teeth removed, and I also would like one implant in my lower jaw. I do have a partial upper denture at the moment, but I have found I just cannot get used to them.

I Can’t Get New Dentures as my Gums are Worn. What Should I Do?

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2015
Q.

I am 60 years old. When I was 13, I had to have fillings in my front teeth about every 6 months for 2 years, as they kept falling out. The dentist then suggested I should have two false teeth which were on a small plate. I then had gum disease, and the rest of my upper teeth were removed. It was the norm in those days to have teeth removed. I developed gum disease in my lower teeth, and again they were removed. I was 14 and had a full set of dentures. I was meticulous about cleaning my teeth, so it was distressing to lose all my teeth. I haven’t had any new dentures for 20 odd years, as the last dentist said my gums were so worn he wouldn’t fit any more. My lower gum is so worn, my dentures are so loose, I am worried they may fall out, please give me options what can be done. I am willing to go private for the treatment, but have no idea of the cost of cosmetic dentistry.

Which Replacement Teeth Option Would be Right for Me?

Thursday, February 5th, 2015
Q.

Hello, I am a 63 year old man and my teeth are in need of a holiday. I am afraid to go ahead and have them removed because many years ago I had a partial palate made which just made me vomit so I never wore it. What can be done these days to prevent this? Once my teeth are removed there is no going back and because of my profession I need to look at least half decent and being on stage and vomiting my teeth out over an audience may not go over very well! Hope you can help. Thank you.

My Partner Is Finding Her Top Denture Uncomfortable To Wear. Is There Such A Thing As A ‘Top Self Denture’?

Wednesday, October 15th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Gambroudes. My partner has top dentures (all except one canine tooth). She has a thing about them and it is making her very self conscious and they are making her very sensitive and unhappy. I think she would be better with a top set that are top of the market so to speak, is there such a thing? She is too young to be going through this, she does have her bottom teeth, but she had a gum problem which is why she has top dentures. Please can you help us? Regards.

Hello Dr Hughes, Is It Possible To Have A Wire Fitting To Keep My Denture In Place As An Alternative To A Dental Plate?

Tuesday, August 19th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Hughes, I’d like your helpful advice. I have three teeth missing left side upper and two right side upper. I wear a denture which covers both sides. Looks perfect which is very important to me.

Is it possible however to have a wire fitting on both sides of the missing teeth, attaching the false teeth next to the good teeth thereby eliminating the need for a dental plate?

I would much prefer this as I am sure it would make eating so much easier to accomplish.

Thank you.

I Have Been Told That I’m Going To Lose All Of My Teeth. How Much Does It Cost To Have Them Replaced?

Thursday, April 17th, 2014
Q.

Hi Andrew. I have had dental issues for many years and at my last appointment I was told that my teeth will fall out sooner rather than later (apparently my gums are not so healthy). That was about 9 months ago and I am yet to lose any teeth. I want to replace all my teeth with new ones so that I am able to progress in the entertainment industry. What I would like to know is, how much is a procedure such as this likely to cost? Thank you. I hope to hear from you soon.

I Have A False Front Tooth And I Would Like Alternative Options As It’s Coming Loose.

Thursday, April 3rd, 2014
Q.

Hi Mark. I had one of my front teeth taken out about six years ago due to a gum infection and I now wear a false tooth. I was told at the time that this was my only option as there was insufficient bone to support an implant. I am now wondering if this is still my only option as I am very self conscious. I am 53 and in good health. I regularly attend my dentist and look after my teeth also. My false tooth is one of my front teeth and is also coming a little loose now. Thank you, I hope to hear from you soon.

If I Invested In Implant Supported Dentures Could I Still Play My Saxophone?

Thursday, August 1st, 2013
Q.

Hi Dr Patel, I just wondered if you could advise me on something? It looks like my lower teeth cannot be saved. The uppers have already been gone for 4 years, and a recent bout with chemotherapy has advanced the decay in my lowers. The only thing I could possibly afford would be mini-implant supported removable dentures. The upper dentures have already ruined my career as a saxophone player — do you think the solution will allow me to play? When done properly, it shouldn’t put any more pressure on the teeth than chewing nuts, for instance? Can you please advise me, I don’t want my career to be in ruins too, I’m not sure what route to turn down. Thanks in advance.
