I Have A Two Teeth Growing At The Top Of My Gum And I Think My Teeth Have Moved. Is This Possible?

Wednesday, September 24th, 2014
Q.

Hi Dr Marcus, I am 12 years old and I think my teeth went forward or back as when I close them and put my teeth down it feels strange.
Like there is a tooth in the way. I also have 2 teeth growing on top of the gum. When I close my mouth the teeth on the left it feels like one is in the way. Please help me. How do I know if my teeth came forward and how do I get them to look like they are on my top left next to the top big teeth – the one on the left of the big tooth is behind the bottom left teeth? Is this right? Thank you.

Will Treatment for My Daughter’s Malocclusion be Available on the NHS?

Thursday, September 4th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Gambroudes. My daughter is twelve years of age and has a mesially inclined lower right sixth tooth and her lower right fifth tooth is impacted. We have already made an appointment with an orthodontist and will be seeing him in a few months, but in the meantime, do you have any idea if these malocclusions will fall within the NHS bracket for free treatment? And how would this problem be treated, do you think she would need a brace? Any information you have would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance for taking the time to read this question and offer any advice you may have.

I Have An Impacted Tooth On The Upper Left Side. Can This Be Easily Removed? I May Need My Wisdom Teeth Removed Also.

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Gambroudes, I have an impacted tooth on the left side on my upper gums. My wisdom teeth have also not been removed yet. I don’t know if that has had an impact on the way they have to be removed. I want to get this extra tooth removed as soon as possible. I also haven’t had a dentist appointment in a while. I have heard from some that it is not possible but I have also heard that it is possible. I am undecided I need to ask someone who actually knows what they are talking about. Can this easily be removed?

I Have An Impacted Canine Tooth. I Would Rather The Gap Caused By This To Be Closed Using A Dental Implant. Is This Possible?

Thursday, August 28th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Hughes. I would really like your advice. I’m 16 and have an impacted canine tooth, my baby tooth is still there but it’s starting to get a pink tint at the top and I’m sure that’s going to be a problem and will need to come out. I don’t wanna consider the exposure of the tooth and braces option, I would much rather leave the impacted tooth in and get an implant or bridge to replace the empty space. I was wondering if this is possible and if not what are other options I have without braces? Thank you for your time.

I Had A Tooth Removed And Braces For 2/3 Years. Now, Whenever I Smile, It Doesn’t Look Normal. What Can Be Done?

Thursday, August 14th, 2014
Q.

Hello there! I am currently a student and for probably 8 years of my life I have had a lot of dental care due to having an extra tooth on top of my front tooth which prevented my front tooth to come down. This resulted to having an operation to remove the extra tooth which meant that the original front tooth was knocked out of the pathway. The dentist then attached a gold chain to that front tooth and pulled the tooth down over the course of 2/3 years. This is when I received braces for a good 2/3 years. This resulted to my gum being extended after the tooth came down so when I smile it doesn’t look normal at all. I wanted to have veneers done but I wanted to know how much it would be overall to sort out my gum and replace my tooth because it is still slanted. Thank you very much!

My Front Tooth Is Skewed And Has Grown Above The Other Ones. Which Treatment Other Than Braces Would Be Suitable To Correct This?

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2014
Q.

Hi, I have a front tooth that has grown up above all the other ones in the gum, it is the only one that is skewed and moving a bit above the right one. I get a hard time having to talk cause only the gap appears until I smile and reveal them. I would like to know the best possible, non-expensive procedure to have it in line with the others but I do not want to go for braces. I have heard of veneers, dental and cosmetic bonding, but could any of them be an option? Any other method? Thanks.

My Front Tooth Is Impacted. Is There Any Way To Correct This Through Surgery Or Any Other Corrective Treatment?

Friday, June 13th, 2014
Q.

Hello Mark. I hope you can help me. My front tooth is impacted after a milk tooth was forcibly pulled by my primary school teacher. Can a front impacted tooth be pushed out through surgery? I was told in the US that a good dental surgeon could do it. Or can it be extracted and replaced with a dental implant? Also another tooth is cracked. Is there any assistance you could give me? I am not working is there anything that can be done? Thank you for your time.

I’ve Had Braces For Nine Months And My Teeth Are Pretty Straight. Do You Know How Long I’ll Need Them?

Wednesday, June 4th, 2014
Q.

Hello Andrew. My question is about braces, if you could please do your best to help me answer. I started off with okay teeth only one of my eye teeth was quite high in my gum. So then I got braces and I have had them for nine months now, and my teeth are pretty straight. Almost perfect and my bite is pretty good also, he has me started with an elastic in the very back that is just shifting my tooth a bit. How much longer do you think I will have braces? Thank you!

I’ve Just Moved And My Son Isn’t Registered. He Has Toothache, Do I Have To Wait Till They Are Open, Or Is There Any Thing I Can Do Now?

Wednesday, April 9th, 2014
Q.

Hi Mark. My son is 5 years old and is not registered with a dentist as we have not long recently moved. And the past couple of days he has been complaining/crying with toothache. I have been giving him children’s paracetamol but it seems to be getting worse. His school looked in his mouth and said his tooth was growing in the back but when I’ve looked in his mouth and the tooth is a bit black and it looks like it’s got a hole in. Is there anything I could do at this time or will I have to wait till when all the dentist are open? Thank you for your time.

I Don’t Want The Gap Left By An Impacted Tooth Any More. What Are My Options?

Tuesday, April 1st, 2014
Q.

Hi Dr Hughes. I would like some information and advice to help me out. I have a tooth, which, when I was younger that grew across the roof of my mouth. This was removed at a young age, when I was thirteen years old. Since then, the tooth next to my front two has spread into the gap. I would like to get this changed so it looks like 2 teeth. What are my options? I don’t want to have a gap any more. The tooth removed was the 2nd one after my front two and the one that’s next to my front 2 (top) has now in the middle of the gap showing a gap either side. Thank you in advance for your help, I look forward to hearing from you.
