Monday, May 11th, 2009
Q.
Hi Dr could you please tell me what options I would have as to replacement teeth if I had to have several removed due to gum disease. Would the dentist be able to fit temporary false teeth to hide obvious spaces while the gums heal? I am at present having the gum disease treated and want to know what my future options are? I am 42 could I get dentures on the nhs?

i have read that implants can only be fitted within 3 months of tooth extraction is this true?

Friday, May 8th, 2009
Q.
I am in my early thirties and have horrendous damage to my teeth through self abuse such as bulimia and i also had an accident when i was younger for which i was given high amounts of fluoride which when my adult teeth came through they were severly stained and very brittle. i have now had about 12 teeth removed in total and i wear a top denture plate for the missing ones but nothing on the bottom plate as i have never been advised or tried for one. i have always been very self conscious about my smile but now it is horrendous my plate does not fit well and it irritates me constantly even though i have had it for over a year now and i end up taking it out and not waering it when im home, although my husband is very good about this its not exactly very sexy especially for someone of my age. im now so desperate to sort my smile out but have no idea what my options are as my dentist is not very good. i thought about implants but the amount i would need would be extrememly costly and i have read that implants can only be fitted within 3 months of tooth extraction due to bone and gum shrinkiage is this true?? are there any other options that you think may be open to me??? i live in essex quite near chelmsford what would the cost be for me to have a consultation with yourself?? thanks so much for any help and advice you can give me

my gum line is quite pointed out could you suggest any cosmetic surgery thats effective

Monday, May 4th, 2009
Q.
Hi Dr, I had braces when i was a teenager so my teeth are even…but the shape of my gum line is quite pointed which makes it look like my teeth are still sticking out. I am currently living in Canada and consultations are expensive – so I was wondering if you could suggest any cosmetic surgery that may be effective? My two front teeth are longer than the ones either side which i am also conscious of. Thanks for your help!

i am uncomfortable with my top left tooth and it is slightly wobbly do you have any idea?

Monday, May 4th, 2009
Q.
For about 5 days one of my top left teeth has been feeling uncomfortable, the gum is tender and im sure the tooth is slightly wobbly. I feel as though i cant put any pressure on it, and i cant chew with it. Im terrified its going to fall out. Im only 20 and really dont want a hole where a tooth should be! It just seemed to happen all of a sudden. Im petrified of going to the dentist, the smell of the latex gloves is enough to make me gag. Do you have an idea of what it could be?
