My daughter is 16 and has had fixed braces twice now for protruding front teeth. after the first time she was told to wear retainers only in the evening for a year. during this year i noticed that her teeth had moved to their previous position before braces. after complaining to the orthodontists he again fitter fixed braces for a year after pulling 4 teeth. he has now taken the fixed braces off and given her the invisalign to wear only at night. she has been wearing the invisalign for 4 months and her teeth have moved forward again. he says that it is acceptable for them to protrude 4mm but i feel that after all this treatment they should be in line with the back teeth and not protrude at all. is 4mm acceptable or should she have further treatments? is invisalign the right way to go?

Friday, December 7th, 2012Hi I’m 22 years old and I am in desperate need of braces. When I was in school my dentist did some botch jobs on my teeth causing sever alignment issues. They told me I needed braces but never did it. My teeth are over lapping and broken and crooked. I am only in part time work and can’t get a loan to get them sorted. What are my options. I have sever depression and don’t like to smile. I have tried to research but people have very unhelpful advice
My tongue can’t sit properly as the teeth are too close. Can anything be done to resolve this?
Thursday, November 22nd, 2012Hi I’m in need of some help, Im 31 have a great smile & i guess i am very very lucky I had a brace when I was younger, I have a terrible problem though as I’ve got older my upper teeth are closing in. I find it so uncomfortable that my tounge can’t sit properly & it causes me to always get ulcers I have even got a imprints on the side at the front. I have looked over sites & willing to pay if I can get this resolved cheaper as I was never given a retainer & there’s not much needed doing apart from moving the two teeth away from my tounge. Im not sure what help I could get & need expert advice on how I can resolve this situation. It’s always there & gets me down. I have my old moulds & wonder where I can go from here. I wonder or hope someone could use me for a new system you may introduce. Or please could u advise me on what type of brace i would need. Its not for cosmetic reasons just to feel at more ease & comfortible living in my own mouth. Thank you for listening
I am 55, is that too old to receive braces?

I always had beautiful straight teeth but now my 22 front teeth seem to have receded by the teeth beside them which have come forward so that on sometimes when I smile they look like they are missing.I also have receding gums. I would like to get my teeth nice and straight again. I don’t really want to have veneers as I have heard so many negative things about them. Do you think I am too old for orthodontic treatment as in having a brace? Do you have any other suggestions. Many thanks, I await your reply.
I tried bleaching my teeth while still wearing braces, they now appear very yellow, what should I do?
Tuesday, October 16th, 2012 Hello, I have traintracks, I have used some bleach tooth whitening while my braces were on, because i was a bit careless when i first got them. Now when i look at them they are white in the mirror and on pictures but when i speak to my friends they can see that they are yellow and when i brush with toothpaste there a lighty/darky yellow colour? I still have braces! Please can you help me as i’ve been searching the web for hours and can’t find nothing!!!
Help!! I really don’t know what to do and it’s getting me down.

Thursday, August 16th, 2012hello just a few things that are bugging me about my teeth, i’d like your opinion. What type of brace will i need if my right tooth slightly crosses over my left? the orthodonist asked me what colour i wanted…what does he mean by this?!! i surely dont have to have removeable ones, also my bite is fine, my bottom teeth arent too straight either and i have had the moulds for both sets of teeth before, but the cosmetic surgeon only moulded my top teeth today and i have to go back in 3 weeks, what type of braces will i have do you think? and for how long? i didn’t get chance to ask what was going to happen.

I am 24 and a full-time degree student. Although my teeth aren’t too crooked, I would like to get them straightened. I’m wondering if there’s a student discount available anywhere as money is obviously very tight at the moment.
I don’t mind having fixed braces, but would prefer something slightly more discreet. However, with the financial situation in mind, I’m not being fussy!

Can 6 Month Smiles straighten my smile as well as traditional fixed braces?
Friday, March 30th, 2012I have recently had a consultation and have been recommended 6 months smile braces. My top lateral incisor is set quite far back and locked behind my lower teeth so I was surprised the shorter treatment time would be suitable expecting perhaps to have teeth removed to make room.
Can 6 month smile treatment apply such force to bring such a stubborn tooth forward?
I guess I am worried because I have had full braces before and some teeth have slipped back into position (thanks in part to my failure to wear my retainer for suffucient time).

Thursday, March 15th, 2012Hi, I have a gap between my two front teeth but I also feel as though the rest of my teeth need to be altered as I have very small lateral incisors and a small overbite. All of these lead to me having a small lisp when I speak. This causes me to feel uncomfortable and to have lack of confidence around people. In previous years I have also been bullied for how my teeth are. I am about to start orthodontic treatment, I was just wondering what type of brace would an orthodontist usually use to treat this? thank you doctor hughes for your time on this matter

Im 21 years old. I had braces for year and half when i was 16 years old.
after braces removal i didnt wear the retainers regularly for a year, then i realized that the lower lateral started to regain its position so i wore these retainers at night for another year..
now i dont use anything and i was wondering if it will keep moving to re-establish its old position? or it will stop at this position? even though it contacts the lingual aspect of upper central and this contact bother me..
also i was wondering if i could remake a new retainer just to keep my teeth at this position regardless this lower lateral?, as i dont want to start a new orthodontic treatment..
