I have had three consultations and I’ve been recommended different options concerning bridges and implants. Can you help?

Q.
I have a failing bridge which involves my ur1,2 and 3. UR3 needs to be extracted. I have been for 3 consultations for an implant to replace UR3 2 dentists have recommended an implant in 3 with a cantilever bridge on it to replace missing ur2. UR1 needs a root canal and a new single crown. However, one other dentist has said a cantilever bridge wouldnt be a good option as it could be too much pressure on the single implant over time, he insists 2 implants is better and would be gauranteed to last a lot longer. Im now wondering why the other dentists havent suggested two implants or is the third dentist just trying to make more money.,

Spots along my gum are really starting to hurt and even peel. What’s the cause and is it common?

Q.
Hi, so I have a question regarding my gums. The gum spots where I had my wisdom teeth removed a long while back are really hurting. I noticed they are raw where they started peeling a little, and its really a pain to chew food now. My co-worker said she has had a similar issue. What could be the cause of this? Is this a common thing, or do I need to be concerned?,

Are there any options to address my extracted tooth?

Monday, August 2nd, 2010
Q.
I have to have a tooth extracted and have been advised an implant is the best option. My dentist has informed me that the gum will need to be left to heal for about 6 months. I enquired about temporary solutions to fill the gap and am being told that this will not be possible so I will have a gap at the front of my teeth for at least 6 months! Please can you advise?,

Will my receding gums stop my dental bridge from being fitted?

Monday, April 12th, 2010
Q.
I had a front tooth extracted that needed to be taken out due to bone lose. The gum above the tooth also started to receed. The recession was not bad, the gum just started to pull away from the tooth a little. I believe the cause was harsh brushing. I now wear a flipper and hate it. I am going in in three days for a dental bridge consultaion. I want to know if my receeded gum will hamper my ability to be fitted for a bridge, or can a bridge be built to cover the bit of gum that has pulled back.,
