I Have Severe Periodontal Disease And This Affects My Confidence Greatly. Could You Give Me Advice On Which Steps To Take?

Hi, Dr. Gambroudes.  I have severe periodontal disease, most of my teeth are moving and some at the upper front have already shifted. I recently had some treatment from my local dentist and after doing an X-ray, we found out that most of the bones have eroded and it’s not looking good. Ive just started taking Doxycycline to hopefully save my gums. However, I am severely affected with the looks of my teeth and my confidence is absolutely down the drain. I hope you can advice me on what steps I should take.

What is the best option for my worn front teeth?

I require a veneer to the top quarter of one of my front teeth. The enamel here has completely worn away. I am not presently looking for any further treatment. I have recently seen a dentist and other minor works required can wait until I can afford the cost. I cannot have the tooth whitening process as I have tried this and am allergic to it. Could you possibly offer an approximation of cost for a front tooth veneer? I am not sure if it is possible to cover just the affected top quarter of the tooth or if the whole tooth has to be covered? Thankyou

I have accidentally removed a lot of tooth enamel, is there anything I can do?

I have been using high strength ascorbic acid for two weeks. The bottle says brush teeth after use. I have and now I have removed lots of enamel off my teeth. I am in so much pain. How long will this pain last and how long does it take to remineralise the teeth. My dentist is unsure of the degree of loss and has painted temporary varnish to heal my teeth. How long does it take the teeth to remineralise or will I suffer forever. My teeth are very see through.

Help Iam getting married in three weeks and before this had lovely teeth. I am so upset.

I have just lost my tooth to gum recession, how can I stop this happening again?

Having recently lost a tooth due to gum recession I’d like to know of any health supplements that would encourage gum / bone regeneration or , failing that , that would prevent further loss.
Dental advice over the years has failed to indicate such problems – both NHS and private practices – leading to a painful and worrying situation in which I have lost a perfectly healthy tooth ( I looked at it after extraction ) due to gum and bone erosion and found out – all of a sudden – that there is a major problem. hope you can help, thank you for your time
