The Screws In My Wife’s Implants Are Coming Loose, What Is The Cost Of Replacing The Component Restorative Portion?

Tuesday, October 22nd, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr Moore. My wife has Nobel Biocare implants and it seems the top denture is removable and the bottom one in permanent. She has had them for seven years. They are getting loose and needs new screws to hold them in place. As it is there used to be a gap between the denture and the gum line, it is no longer there and it is causing her some discomfort. What would be the cost of component restorative portion? How long does the procedure take? Thank you in advance for any advice you can give me on this matter.

How Long Does The Pain Last Following Root Canal Treatment?

Monday, July 15th, 2013
Q.

I have had a root canal done 2/26/13 on a bottom rear molar # 31,how long does the pain last from the root canal and I was told to chew on opposite side soft foods until my restoration, prior to that that regular dentist said I would need a appointment in two or three weeks to finish the restoration (crown),now Im told I cannot get a appointment till April with permanent crown finished in May.Is that to long to wait with a temporary white filling that is used ?? I am very sensitive to pain and have high anxiety with dental work.

I have new dentures – 7 front teeth top bridge on a chrome platform – but they are painful, what can I do?

Wednesday, January 5th, 2011
Q.

I have just picked up my new dentures. They are a 7 tooth front top bridge on a chrome platform. They look awful, dont fit and hurt me. I was told to go away and let them bed in for 3 to 4 days. After 4 hours I have raging toothache as I am sure the tooth to the side of the bridge is being pushed sideways and the chrome plate comes nowhere near the roof of my mouth. I cant eat, cant smile and cant talk. What am I to do, I am beside myself with worry.

How long will it take to get used to my new bridge?

Wednesday, November 24th, 2010
Q.

Hello Doc.
Last week I had some bridge work done to replace a 2-tooth lower plate, which I’ve lived with for over 20 years, but which was becoming irritating and ill-fitting. The bridge looks fantastic, but feels very unwelcome in my mouth and I’m starting to panic that I’ve made the wrong decision by having this work done. All I can feel in my mouth is this bridge; eating has become a depressing affair, since the bridge feels like its dominating my taste buds. Will this discomfort subside? How long should I wait before deciding to have the thing removed? Please help!

At least 3-6 months

Is corrective surgery advisable for my large overbite?

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010
Q.
Hi, I was advised by my orthodontist to take up corrective surgery as I have a large overbite (upper jaw). I am 28 years old and wanted to know if the corrective surgery is advisable. I have heard from some people that the jaws are connected by strings/wires after the surgery. I have also heard that the mouth cannot open as wide as it naturally used to. If the jaw is connected again using screws and plates, are there any issued during the cold winters (cold metal plates causing discomfort)? Thank you for reading my question and I look forward to your reply.,
