I Wear Dentures Which Make Me Look Older. How Expensive Are Dental Implants?

Monday, October 20th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Gambroudes. I am 34 and I’ve been left with no teeth. I am currently wearing a denture but it’s feels like my face is already making me a lot older than what I am I am so down but I have been to a few dentist and they said I would be a perfect fit for dental implants as I have good bone structure but I’m currently on benefits due to back pain is the procedure expensive for upper and lower implants. Thank you.

I Get Sick From Wearing My Denture. Is There Any Other Treatment That Can Help Me?

Monday, August 4th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Hughes. The dentist advised me to have all my upper teeth removed as I was born with a cleft palette which was operated on as a baby. I can’t seem to wear the dentures they have given me as they irritate the roof of my mouth. Is there anything I can do on the NHS or is private my only option? I do work but being a single parent and only aged 49, I would struggle to go privately. I get violently sick whenever I wear my denture. I would appreciate any advice? Thank you.

I Currently Have A Set Of Plastic Dentures Which I’d Like Replaced. I’m Unaware Of What Is Available. Could You Tell Me How Much It Would Cost?

Tuesday, June 24th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Moore,

I have a set of 3 false teeth at the front of my mouth (top set). And also I have one to the left side and one at the very back on the right side. I currently have the standard dentures with all the plastic which I really hate and I’d like to have this replaced with something else but unsure of what is available. What would you recommend and also what sort of cost would I be looking at if I had them replaced with something else? Thank you for your time and helpful advice in advance.

I Don’t Like To Wear My Hard Denture. Can You Tell Me If The Rubber Ones Are More Comfortable?

Friday, May 9th, 2014
Q.

Dear Andrew. I have had movement of one of my front teeth and the gum has receded back. It’s been like this for some time. The tooth itself is not loose but it has dropped down and is a bit twisted. For the past month I have had a bit of sensitive pain with it. I know it needs to come out but I’ve put it off as I already have one tooth missing. I have a hard denture which I dont like to wear as it covers the roof of my mouth and I don’t like the feel of it. I only wear it now and again as you can’t really tell. My problem is if I were to have the front tooth out I will need to wear a denture all the time and can’t stand the thought of a hard denture. My dentist has shown me a rubber type denture and I wondered if this might be the better option? Thanks.

I’m Fed Up Of The Long List Of Work That Needs Doing And Want To Know If It Would Be Best To Just Get A Full Set Of Implants, Top And Bottom?

Tuesday, February 11th, 2014
Q.

I’m a 28 year old female and my teeth are really making me feel depressed. I had a few bad experiences when I was young visiting the dentist and often would have to be held down by the other dentists as I was so afraid. I try my best to have regular check-ups but it seems every time I go, I walk away with a big list of work that needs doing. My mouth is just a mass of black, I just hate it. I was told my options were an implant or a denture as my teeth next to it were too brittle to support a bridge. I opted for a denture as I didn’t want to spend that amount of money on 1 implant to sit next to my other bad teeth. When the dentist removed my root canal 2 months ago, she couldn’t get it out and literally had to destroy my gum to get to it. I was left with what I can only describe as an upside down v up my gum! The denture I have is just awful. It covers the entire roof of my mouth and drops down onto my tongue sometimes when I’m eating. I’ve been told I need 2 more root canals on my back teeth both sides. It seems every tooth in my mouth is at a different stage of needing work and I feel it will only be a matter of time before those root canals will fail and I’ll need more implants. My teeth are a little discoloured but apart from my missing front tooth my teeth don’t look that bad from the outside, they are just very brittle, always have been. My question to you is this, I want to have all of my teeth removed and a full set of implants, top and bottom. I’ve discussed this with my dentist and for some reason she won’t entertain the idea, simply telling me its always best to keep your own teeth which I feel is a massive contradiction when she tells me the sheer scale of all the work I need? Financially I can afford to pay for them, I think the price I have seen is around 25k, I have always wanted a perfect, white, bright smile.

I Have Recently Had 16 Teeth Extracted. Is There Such A Thing As Attaching Dentures To Implants?

Tuesday, January 21st, 2014
Q.

Hi I have recently undergone an operation of 16 extractions on my upper set and now I have no teeth at all.
I have a denture but my appearance and mouth has totally changed. I also have an overbite and my lip looks swollen when there worn. I’m still on the same type of food I was eating during after the operation. I am only 20 years young and I would love a long term option. Are there any option that won’t break the bank financially? Is there such a thing as attaching dentures to implants? Thank you.

I Want To Replace My Dentures With A Set Of Dental Implants, Can I Get Them Through The NHS?

Wednesday, June 26th, 2013
Q.

Hello Andrew, I am 38 and unfortunately with bad living etc I have been wearing a denture on my upper set for 5 yrs. I still see myself as too young for dentures & get to the point in the day when I feel i have to take it out,but with having a partner & kids this is very difficult as I wont let them see me without it. Basically I would like to know the approx cost of an upper set of dental implants, I realise in time bone in the jaw would deteriorate & that would have to be looked at. But I just think I can’t go through the rest of my life with the irritant of my upper denture. Also what does it take to get NHS help in my situation? So I would appreciate any information you could give to me, thank you very much.
