How Can I Improve the Suction on my Dentures?

Friday, September 2nd, 2016
Q.

I’m 60 years old and just received my second set of dentures. My question is: The top denture feels like the suction should be better than it is, once they are made can they add to the back (length) so that the suction would be better? They look like they could stand to be a little longer in the back. With my previous set (top) when they were first made, the suction was great but I lost weight and they became loose and would drop down. With this new set, the top just doesn’t have the suction I feel it should. Thank you so much.

Why Does My New Denture Give Me a Sunken In Appearance?

Monday, April 20th, 2015
Q.

I had an all-on-four procedure done almost two years ago now. The dentist has had me in for repeated try-ins of the final denture but it doesn’t look right. The upper denture makes me look like I have a sunken in appearance with no teeth showing. It makes me look old and toothless. Can you tell me why, and what might correct this? The dentist is a really nice guy but I’m really embarrassed by my appearance. They also have a lot more material on them than I was expecting. I was shown a completely different denture that fit against my gums without all the extra acrylic in my mouth. Help please!

My New Dentures Don’t Fit As Well As My New Ones And Now I Look Goofy, How Can They Be Fixed?

Friday, October 25th, 2013
Q.

Hi, I’ve been wearing a full top denture for about ten years I’ve just had a new set made and they are much longer than my old set and they also protrude slightly so I look a bit goofy. My dentist just said they would take a bit of getting used to, Is there anything that can be done about this please? Also from the side it looks like I’ve got a badly swollen lip and I can’t talk properly. My last set were made at the same practice and they were great, only my family know I wear dentures as they are so good. Now I look like the donkey out of Shrek. This can’t be right can it? Please help.

I Told My Dentist That My Denture Looked Terrible And Now It Looks Worse, What Should I Do?

Tuesday, July 30th, 2013
Q.

hello.. i just got three remaining teeth removed on the upper while leaving my two front teeth and four more on the top right side. there was stitches and a bridge put in the same day. it hurt a lot and i have been soaking in salt water, and cold yogurt to bring the swelling down. the bridge was across the roof of my mouth and the front left side had a hook over my front tooth. i told him that looked terrible; he sawed it off and put some soft material that hardens instead. it still looks bad and not natural because it has to slightly cover my front left upper tooth to hold it.
my gums are not good so i cannot receive implants. this was done yesterday and it hurts too much to put my bridge. i have read that people wait until the bridge is put in??? thank you for your consideration.
