Hi, I have asked my dentist to remove a tooth that is higher up in my gum, he has suggested once removed to have a cosmetic tooth put in its place and I asked then to have veneers but he suggested I have four to six of the front upper teeth crowned, will this make my teeth straight like a hollywood smile!!

Hi i have a gap between my 2 front teeth, this is the problem i would love to change. however i am worried the condition of my teeth may be a problem, i am currently trying to improve this but i seem to suffer with alot of decay on my back teeth and have had to have teeth removed filled and crowned this does not bother me but would like to have the front teeth done. is it still possible to have those teeth only, will it damage my teeth or are they strong enough and how much could this cost. many thnks

How can i get treatment for my twisted tooth without using braces?

Hello, On the left side of my two front teeth i ahve a twisted tooth. I don’t want to have braces and turned the oppurtunity down because i didn’t want the pain and hassle for one tooth. I’m asking is there any way to have this cosmetically done, i.e. veneers, crowns, false teeth, etc. Please let me know; i haven’t had a cosmetics professionals opinion. Are veneers the quick fix to close gaps?

Below is the Q&A from yesterday. I wondered whether you could clarify things for me. You said veneers are the quick fix, does that mean that you would always expect to close all gaps and never use veneers or does the bite determine this? I am aware I would need a retainer for a couple of years but what I don’t want is for my teeth to move to fill the gaps. Is it possible to use something behind the veneers to fill the gap to prevent the movement? Q. I am 41 and have had fixed braces for nearly 2 years after having had 4 teeth removed. My lower jaw is fine but I have been told that I will be left with gaps on my upper jaw behind my canines due to the size and shape of my teeth. Is this normal? It has been suggested that I now have 4 veneers to hide the gaps, is there any other alternative? Will the veneers stop my teeth from moving? A. The veneers would be a quick way of reducing the size of the gaps instead of the brace which can often take 1-2 years to close the gaps sufficiently. They don’t stop the teeth moving so a new retainer would be needed after they are fitted

Hiya, i had an operation on my gum a few years back which left me with a gap at the front of my mouth, this happened due to a mistake made during the operation? since this happened i have been very subconscious about my teeth as they are in quite a bad state. Afew years ago i filed down my four front teeth and my four bottom teeth as i thoght it would make them look straighter, my top four front teeth were very long and overlaped wich they still do but only just. They now feel uncomfortable and my jaw aches on ocassions, i havent been to the dentist in afew years now and im worried about telling them what i did, but id love to get them fixed in some way to make them look and feel better, would veneers or crowns be a good option for this or something else that you could advice me on, also how much would veneers cost and would i need to have them on the 8 that i filed, any advice would be great look forward to hearing from you.
