Why have 2 dentists given me 2 completely different suggestions?

Friday, September 3rd, 2010
Q.
Hi dr i have two crooked/protruding teeth at the front. One of which has root canal treatment and the other which has a cavaity. I saw one dentist who suggested 6 porcelain crowns and the other suggested 10 porcelain veneers. I dont understand why the big differenc in suggestions – why do think this may be? which would provid a better result for fairly protruding teeth – veneers or crowns? thanks for any help,

My dentist cemented my veneer into my normal tooth and it’s now very sensitive. Do you have any advice?

Hi. i had 2 veeners fitted to my front teeth last July. In january i broke one of them i had an impression done and a new one fitted but since i experience pain in it sometimes. A week a go it fell off i went to my dentist and she sent it to lab to be etched, she cemented it back today but for some reason without asking me she cemented it to my veener next to it and my normal tooth on the other side, she said it was to make it stronger. im finding it quite diffucult to eat and drink and it pulls when i do to try eat. is there anything you can tell me as to why she would do it or why im experiencing sensitivity and diffuculty eating?,

How can I make the colour of my root canaled tooth match the rest of my remaining teeth?

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010
Q.
Hi, about two years ago i had a root canal treatment on my front tooth (top left), unfortunately it has taken a lot of the whiteness out of that tooth and it is clearly visible. Is there anything you could suggest to make it look the same as the tooth next to it? Thank you,

I had porcelain veneers since 05, In just the past few days I am getting sensetive to cold behind my eye tooth and canine tooth on the right side. It comes and goes. What could be wrong? I used, for the first time a sensetive toothpaste and that seemed to help.,

Could I have new lumineers placed over my old veneers?

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010
Q.
Hi I had veneers done when I was 15, I am now 33 and think they still look horrible to be honest. I am very camera shy and never show my teeth as I lack confidence because of the. I would have them re done but I can’t afford it, could I have lumineers over the top or are they expensive too? How can I whiten them also? Hope you can help me as I get married this year and would love it if something could be done.

I would like my veneers to match perfectly, any advice?

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010
Q.
Hi, I currently have a white composite veneer on my Upper Left 1 tooth as a result of the tooth darkening from an incident at school where I bumped my tooth on my knee. I am 21 and a trainee dental nurse, although I do have straight teeth it bothers me when i see that my two front teeth do not match and i am seriously considering my options for veneers etc… What would be the best way around this for me? Would I be best getting two matching veneers because the tooth with the composite veneer is higher up in my gum than the other? I would like for them to match perfectly because from having braces for years when younger I can’t stand that im not happy with my teeth! Am i best using the Dental Practice I work at or going to a cosmetic surgery and paying that bit extra? thank you ,

Have I been given the correct advice in regards to wanting dental veneers?

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010
Q.
Hi, I have been to see 2 seperate dentists about getting veneers fitted. They have both said it is not possible as I have a lot of enamel loss and in taking away a layer of the tooth it may hit a nerve. I am still really keen to get veneers; can you please advise if what I have been told is correct? And if so if there is anyway around it? I look forward to hearing from you. Kind Regards,
