I have broken one of my front teeth, what are my options for fixing this and how much will it cost?

Tuesday, January 25th, 2011
Q.

I have broken one of my front teeth. Some of the tooth is still there, a small amount at the front but a larger amount at the back. i know that without seeing it you can’t give a definate answer but what type of work do you think I’ll have to have done, crown or veneer? Also, what will the average price be?

Many thanks

I am worried my new veneer will break or fall out, what should I do?

Tuesday, January 25th, 2011
Q.

I have white fillings in the front of my teeth. However I choose to I have a one porcelain veneer put on one of my front side teeth. I went to a respectable clinic in central London. My tooth had a filling in it from previous years due to decay and was crooked. Everyone around me told me there was nothing wrong with my smile, but I went ahead and got it done. Although it looks better, I have now worked myself up into such state because I feel I didn’t need the veneer, I could have just got a white filling. I miss my oId tooth. I feel that I have put myself in a position were for the rest of my life I have to watch what i eat, have dental work done and have damaged the structure of my tooth. After I got the veneer I started reading from the internet how veneers fall off, root canals and needing crown/permanent implants after the veneer because the tooth was sanded down to thin and they could not replace it with another veneer. This made me cry. I constantly feel so depressed. I am scared that my veneer will fall out/break, and have stopped eating full meals as I have lost my appetite. This has made me lose a noticeable amount of weight.

Do veneers feel different from real teeth and are they bigger?

Monday, January 24th, 2011
Q.

Dear Dr Solanki,
I am 28 from Runcorn and I have been considering porcelain veneers for some time but I have a few reservations, I wonder if you could give any advice.
My teeth are quite large to begin with, my question is do porcelain veneers have to be made bigger than your natural teeth? I wouldnt want my teeth to be any larger as I dont think it would look right on me.
Also do you think veneers can look like natural teeth? Im a bit worried about them looking obviously fake. And do the temporary ones look ok?
Finally do you offer any finance options at all at your practice to spread the cost? I am sorry to bombard you with questions!! Many thanks for your time and any advice you can give,

Would you recommend veneers or cosmetic braces to straighten my smile?

Thursday, January 20th, 2011
Q.

Dr. Solanki.
I am 19years old and my front left tooth is starting to get pushed forwards making my front row of teeth crooked due to there being no room. I have a sight over bite of about 1cm also. I have been to an orthodontic consultation and they advised me to have fitted metal braces for 18months but i take a lot of pride in my appearance and having braces would seriously damage my self image. Also my wisdom teeth have not come through yet. My teeth are not dis-coloured or mishaped in any way. What would your advise be about the Invisalign braces or veneers which i have also thought about?
