would i get free dental veneers in the NHS

Monday, September 15th, 2008
Q.
Hi Julian, I’ve had a large gap in my front two teeth since I was a child, it’s about 5-6mm wide so it’s quite big. I was looking into getting Veneers but I’m not sure if they would make much of a difference with a gap that big. I don’t think I’d want my front two teeth to look much bigger either. What advice can you give me? I’m 18 and a student so obviously I can’t afford them right now but I’m not sure if I would get them free off of the NHS? Any help would be much appreciated.

i have had porcelain veneers on my front four teeth

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008
Q.
I have had porcelain veneers on my front four teeth since i was about 12. I am unhappy with the appearance of my smile. I have gaps and a bit of an over bite. I was told by a dentist that before he could give me new veneers i would need braces to bring my teeth closer together, but many of the orthodontists i have seen say i would have to have the veneers removed and have braces on my teeth underneath. Is it possible to wear any sort of brace on top of veneers? Thanks!

my 2 front veneers keep falling out

Monday, August 18th, 2008
Q.
I had 4 veneers fitted to my upper front teeth last year. The next day 2 right hand veneers fell off and were eventually replaced. A few months later 1 of the right hand ones fell off and again was replaced as I hadnt realised the tooth had come out. 2 weeks ago another middle veneer fell off and was refitted yesterday and today has fallen off again. Is it the way they are being fitted that is at fault as I was not even eating when they fall out. Please help

My veneers were fitted too close to my gumline

Sunday, August 17th, 2008
Q.
I have had veneers fitted which look good. but unfortunatly after a few months i have had a bad gum infection above my front teeth, my front and side tooth were previously damaged with a fall 10 years back. I have been advised the veneers are fitted to close to the gum ridge and as yet my dentist doesnt want to change them over yet, any suggestion as i now seem to be in constant on off niggling pain around mainly the orignal teeth which were damaged any suggestions

my 4 veneers do not fit straight

Sunday, August 17th, 2008
Q.
I had veneers fitted.the 4 front ones i am due to go back as one was not fitted perfectly straight and dentist had to trim the bottom off as it was longer than other front one. he is going to replace it, but it has caused the smaller one next to it not to fit right. when i chew on that side i can feel the teeth sort of clicking. does this mean they are not fitted correctly and should i have them both replaced? also should i be able to see and feel a roughness around the top of the teeth where they meet the gum, like they are not on properly or its the cement that holds them on. is this normal?

what are emax veneers ?

Thursday, August 7th, 2008
Q.
Hi. I recently had 6 upper porcelain veneers done, but am seeking to have 2 of them redone as I am not happy with them. They are emax veneers. Are these the same as the Mac veneers? I am looking for a type which will match my other (emax) veneers. What exactly are emax veneers? Thank you

what is best for flourosis crowns veneers or microabrasion

Thursday, July 31st, 2008
Q.
Hiya, I am 22 years old (female), I have had flourosis stains since the age of 14.I have been told that the stains are deeply embedded in the front two teeth – this is the only place that are visible..otherwise my teeth are okay. I want to know what treatment I need. I have been told either crowns or veneers, but I have done a few reading around and found a case study that the patient had similar staines to me and a so called microabrasive slurry was used to remove the deep stains. Please let me know what I can do. Help?!
