I have abscess above my 4 front teeth should i get them extracted?

Thursday, September 10th, 2009
Q.
I am 28 and my dentist has just told me that after 2 x-rays that I have abcesses above my 4 top front teeth. He says at the moment the abcess appears to be draining into the mouth but will get worse in time. He says that it is unlikely the teeth can be saved and will need to come out and be replaced by a removable plate. The teeth cause me no problems at present. He says he can refer me to the hospital to see what they say if I want. Should I just accept my dentists reccommendation and have the teeth out now or wait until they cause me grief. Or should I ask to be referred to the hospital? Also I’d much rather have dental implants rather than a plate but he made no mention of this. Is this an option? Obviuosly I wouldn’t mind normally but having to have the top 4 front teeth out in a row is rather a shock.

Im experiencing pain in my teeth can u plz help?

Thursday, September 10th, 2009
Q.
Hello, I have just been to my dentist as I was experiencing pain in my lower back teeth. I had an x-ray done and was told that my lower back teeth were fine but that I have alot of decay in my top canine tooth and that it will need fixing immediatly. She then poked and blew air into it asking me if it hurt which it didn’t and then said I would need the tooth sorting but said that it would be extremley difficult. I asked if she meant if I was going to lose the tooth or need a root canal and she said no nothing like that, she would just need to do a normal type filling but just that it was going to be very difficult. I am now scared and don’t understand. Please could you explain this to me a little more? What happens during a filling of you canine tooth and why would it be so difficult? Please please help!!!

I had braces years back but my overbite came back advice?

Thursday, September 10th, 2009
Q.
Hi There, I had braces when I was a young teenager to close the gap between my two front teeth and get rid of my overbite. The gap has gone but my overbite came back (due to not wearing my retainer when I was younger). I would now like to get this corrected, but don’t particularly want to get one of the regular train track braces, and cannot afford to pay thousands of pounds for the other treatments. Are there any alternatives?

I have pain in my tooth and my dentist suggests me to remove it plz advice?

Thursday, September 10th, 2009
Q.
Dear Dr Andrew Moore Recently I’ve had extremely hard pain on one of my front teeth so decided to pay a visit to my local dentist. After taking an x-ray he noticed my top tooth bone was eroding so told me he would have to remove the tooth the next time i visit. I’m thinking of leaving it and let nature take place and see if the tooth stays in place but if it gets bad to worse and have no choice and its left to the tooth being removed what would you advise me to do . Thank you. Kind Regards

Afew years ago i filed down my four front teeth and my four bottom teeth as i thoght it would make them look straighter, my top four front teeth were very long and overlaped wich they still do but only just. They now feel uncomfortable and my jaw aches on ocassions, i havent been to the dentist in afew years now and im worried about telling them what i did, but id love to get them fixed in some way to make them look and feel better, would veneers or crowns be a good option for this or something else that you could advice me on, also how much would veneers cost and would i need to have them on the 8 that i filed, any advice would be great look forward to hearing from you.

Hi I am 59 years of age, and have had protruding front

Saturday, September 5th, 2009
Q.
Hi I am 59 years of age, and have had protruding front teeth since the age of nine. I have always been afraid of dentists due to a very bad experience at the age of 4 years. My question is am I too old to have them straightened and can anything be done, should the above be correct? I have been tormented by my peers both in my adult and child hood. Although I have coped with the teasing since I was a child, with the knowledge that it is thier problem, it has always left me feeling insecure. I would dearly love to have them straightened if possible for myself. I await in anticipation for your answer. Yours sincerely.

I am 23 i want my teeth removed and dentures put in advice?

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009
Q.
Hi i am beyond exasperated with my teeth now. i have a HUGE fear of the dentist. i recently had two teeth taken out after many a muddle up and going to about 6 different dentist, been referred for sedation etc and it was just awful. i am not getting pain in my other teeth and i just cannot handle it anymore. i will be willing to get money from somewhere but i am wondering IF its possible to have ALL of my teeth removed and dentures put in?i could NOT bare veneers or implants – that is simply out the question. i just want all my teeth out and dentures. i am 23, i know it’s young but honestly, i am at the end of my tether now. please could you give me any info this — if its even possible, what would happen, the cost etc. thank you so much.
