Will the NHS provide cosmetic dentistry?

Friday, November 26th, 2010
Q.

I am 57 and feel quite young except for my teeth. They are in a terrible state and it spoils every day for me. I cannot afford anything other than NHS treatment and feel that life is just passing me by because of my mouth. Please could you suggest anywhere I could go that would give me a sympathetic hearing. I don’t care how far I would have to travel I just want to be able to smile.

I am due to go to the dentist but I am suffering from a stomach ulcer, what should I do?

Friday, September 3rd, 2010
Q.
I have a stomacl ulcer and find going to the dentist an ordeal as I am in considerable stomach pain as well as toothache. I tried going yesterday for a fillling but had to explain the problem and leave again without having the procedure done. Needless to say as soon as i got home the pain started to ease. Last time I was at this dentist I had severe diahorrrea before a root canal was attempted, I WONDER IF the dentist usually refers to the hospita in this sort of case.,

I cannot afford to pay for my grandaughter’s dental treatment, what can we do?

Monday, July 5th, 2010
Q.
Hi, I am 83. I cannot help my grandaughter financially. is there help under the NHS for her please. Her teeth have worn down to gum level. Fear, has stopped her all these years from trying to get help to stop the problem. The roots are strong but the surface broke away years ago on her teeth. she has no confidence,She walks around with her hand across her mouth. She cannot eat properly, cannot get a job. She has lost her children through domestic problems and is homeless. She needs to make a fresh start, but her teeth must come first to give her self pride, and confidence, also she need to give nice white smiles once again. She would get work then. Is there help out there please. I am worried sick. Thanks you for giving us your time (I heard that dental training hospitals do implants for free with trainee dentists, Is this true please). she is 36 years old and looks much older,,
