Would Veneers be the Best Treatment for my Darkened Tooth?

Tuesday, December 9th, 2014
Q.

Hi Dr Hughes. I had root canal treatment on one of my front teeth over 5 years ago, and it has now got very dark/black. I have been very self-conscious about this and think a veneer on this tooth may be the best option? I am aware that the tooth is dead and the last time I had the root canal treatment they gave me a gum shield with liquid in it to whiten the tooth, but now it has got very dark and has been for last 2/3 years. I am aware of the costs and would be willing to pay it, could you give me advice please? Thank you.

My Grandson’s Tooth Was Knocked And Is Going Dark, What Can Be Done?

Tuesday, June 11th, 2013
Q.

My grandson fell and injured one of his front baby tooth it has gone grey there appears to be no infection he is only three and his teeth were beautiful is there anything that can be put on the tooth to make it white. As it will be a least three or four years before the adult tooth appears. My daughter took him to the dentist and they said the tooth may go black there appears to be no infection on the gum. I hope you can help because I feel really bad just having him with a dark tooth and being able to do nothing about it. Thank you very much.

How can I get my sons tooth permanently fixed?

Friday, April 19th, 2013
Q.

Dr Patel

My 8 year old son chipped the corner of his (adult) front tooth yesterday. We still have the broken piece of tooth.

What are our options for repairing this? We have him booked to see his regular dentist tomorrow to check that everything is OK but we’d like something that is relatively permanent while understanding that his teeth may still be moving and will get a little longer over the coming years.

Your are relatively local so were considering a visit if you can help! I would be very happy if you could give me some help and your opinion on this. Kind regards

My front, right tooth is stuck inside my gum, what can I do to get this fixed?

Friday, September 14th, 2012
Q.

hi, i have a tooth problem where my front right tooth has sunk up into the gum its about quarter in since the last 5-6 years i had to have braces in for nearly a year to try and pull it down but it did not move at all, i forgot to attend two appointments after and so they took me off their dentistry register.
so now i have not done anything about it, but i am a bit worried that it could get worse, other than that i would like to have it level with my other front tooth.
i had x rays it showed the tooth was still alive but the colour is a little greyer than the others.

Any advise would be much appreciated, thank you in advance.
