Can Cosmetic Bonding Be Carried Out On The Whole Smile?

Thursday, August 8th, 2013
Q.

Hi, I recently chipped my upper right front tooth. My local dentist has now seen to it using a bonding agent and the appearance of my tooth is great, exactly the same as before. But now it has got me thinking of using the same thing for the rest of my teeth to improve the overall appearance. I have slight gaps between a few of my upper teeth which does leave me quite paranoid. Would you recommend bonding on the rest of the teeth? I’m just slightly worried that I’ll have to keep having the treatment replaced and that I’ll have to lose a lot of tooth structure.  I think it would be better if all my teeth matched up perfectly too as the new bonding is slightly brighter than the rest of my teeth but only I can notice it. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I Sucked My Thumb Until The Age Of 12, What’s The Cheapest Way I Can Get My Teeth Fixed?

Wednesday, June 19th, 2013
Q.

Hi Andrew. I am writing to you in order to seek some advice. I am very embarrassed to admit that I sucked my thumb day and night from being a baby to age 12. Now my teeth are crooked and arched and I am regularly told that I have “vampire teeth” because my canines stick out. I have lost a lot of confidence because of this and cannot smile in pictures. I am a teenager and have been refused help by my dentist because the problem is cosmetic. Please can you advise me on the best procedures for my case and hopefully, cheap ones also, preferably due to my current situation with money. I would also like to know if my teeth will gradually set straight again over time as well? Or would this only come about with the help of brace treatment for example?Thank you for taking your time to read this in advance.

Can I Have A Large Gap Between My Two Front Teeth Closed Using NHS Treatments?

Wednesday, May 15th, 2013
Q.

Hi, I have a very large gap between my 2 front teeth. In fact, it is so large that I can wobble a pound coin between them as I’ve gotten older (I’m 31 now). My teeth have moved quite a bit and my problem is that the gums between my teeth are getting damaged due to biting food and are becoming very tender so I have been looking at treatment used but it all seems very expensive. I never had braces as a child because the ones available were very large and I would have been bullied when wearing them. I don’t know what else to do and I am becoming very self-conscious about it now. What kind of treatment would you suggest and would I be able get my teeth fixed on nhs? as I currently don’t work, thank you for any help.

What Portion Of My Teeth Would Be Discarded If I Went For Crowns?

Wednesday, May 1st, 2013
Q.

Hello doc. I am 37 yrs old .my front two teeth are not only bigger in size when compared to others but they are inclined a bit forward too.At this age I don’t want to go for braces or total cosmetic change.can contouring of these teeth be done? According to my local dentist my teeth are otherwise healthy .but one of the upper incisor has crowning, right-side of the upper
jaw (canine) was missing , so here is a bridging too. My main concern is an overbite because of the two teeth.and if I opt for the cosmetic change like crown of the upper central teeth, how much of the original teeth will be discarded
Please guide me on this.
Thank you.

I Want To Close The Gaps In My Teeth, What’s The Cheapest Way For Me To Do This?

Wednesday, April 24th, 2013
Q.

I can email you a clear picture of my teeth. I want to close my gaps and also change my fillings to white.
Please can i email you a picture for a quote? I have about 10 fillings and I have 4 gaps at the front. I am 29 years old. My dentist told me when I was 9 that the gap would close naturally, when I asked for a brace, but it never closed. I can’t afford hundreds of pounds of treatment so I am looking for the easiest and cheapest option available to me.

Should I Have Cerec Treatment?

Thursday, April 4th, 2013
Q.

Should I have Cerec treatment done on the top four or six teeth, won’t this make the rest of my teeth look discoloured? Does one have to get the whole of the top and bottom teeth done?
Also how long do they last for and what is the price?
My teeth are not crooked, pretty straight with a small gap at the front which I would like closed up. I am now running of of things to type but I can’t send this unless I write 400 words which is pretty daft?

Thanks

I currently have veneers, but would like to have porcelain lumineers fitted instead. Is this an option?

Monday, March 18th, 2013
Q.

Hi, is it possible to have lumineers fitted, as i already have porcelain ones which I’ve had almost 10 years but the front one snapped a couple of months ago and its been replaced by an ugly yellow NHS veneer! And also I would like to know what material the NHS veneers are now made of as this seems to be thicker and rough compared with my old smooth shiny ones. Thanks 🙂

I Am At University And Unhappy With My Smile, How Do I Get This Fixed?

Thursday, March 7th, 2013
Q.

Hello, I’m very un happy with my smile. My two top front teeth are quite large, but they are square at least, the problem is the two next to them go back a little and are much smaller, which then makes me look a bit goofy! Also the two either side of them, (incisors? i think) come forward a bit and are still a lot smaller and very pointy so when i bite together there are gaps inbetween them and my bottom teeth. Im not sure weather much can be done within my price range, i am a 21 year old student at university and im not sure what the deal is with paying for dental care now, however they are making me very un happy so am willing to work hard to try and get them sorted. if you could perhaps give me a idea of what sort of treatment would work for this i would be very grateful. Im sorry its quite hard to explain, but if i could perhaps send a photo of my teeth to explain better. that would be brilliant too. Thank you

Can You Fix My Tooth Without Removing The Entire Bridge?

Friday, February 1st, 2013
Q.

I have a bridge on top of 9 teeth, the bridge is one piece ,i broke one tooth ,is there any possibility to rebuild the tooth without removing entire bridge.I had the work done two years ago in my hometown in Poland whilst in Holland yesterday i had a tooth become detached, I was able to get it glued back in yesterday evening prior to leaving for London. My dentist in Poland asked that I return home and advised that the whole bridge would have to be replaced.I am alarmed by this and wpould request your opinion on the validity of this statement.I am working in the UK and would not wish to return to Poland for what ia advised would be for a period of at least 10days. I would appreciate a prompt reply. Thanks,

Im terrified Of The Dentist And My Teeth Are In So Much Pain. What Can I Do?

Wednesday, January 16th, 2013
Q.

Please can someone help me. I have gone over this e-mail in my mind hundreds of times and just haven’t had the courage to write it. My hands are shaking typing this.
I am a 43 year old mother of a three year old I am a single parent living off of benefits.
I was a smoker till recently and have lost three stone and am looking after myself because of my son, I am an older mum so i want to be healthy for him.

I am absolutely terrified of the dentist so much so that I have had a toothache for two years. Lately its got so much worse. I take painkillers for a back and shoulder problem, but the pain in my back pales into insignificance compared to the pain in my tooth.

When I was a child my School was just across the road from New Cross Dentist College. Myself and other Children attended on a regular basis, I remember being held down in a chair terrified, whilst one man with a Bunsen burner heated up an instrument to give me a root filling I was about 7-8 at the time, after that I had to sit in a chair numerous times with a gumsheild on having fluoride treatment. I still had baby teeth when i was eighteen, but by that time I had stopped going to the dentist.

My teeth are in a terrible state i am in pain from three of them one is really bad. I hate meeting new people because of my teeth. Ive got no confidence at all and I’m terrified that my son will be bullied at school. I’m sure people treat me differently. My little boys father, who I am no longer with said he would not kiss me because of my teeth.

I am on anti depressants, and have even bought anti biotics online rather than go to the dentist. I know i have ruined my teeth, with smoking and drinking coffee and not visiting the dentist. But I cant live like this any more. I just want to look normal so I can be a proper mum to my son.

I cant sleep I lie awake at night thinking about it, it’s making me ill and I’m scared I’m going to end up with septicaemia. Please can you help me or do you know someone that can.

Yours sincerely
