Hi. I’m 28 years old. In my younger days I was never made to to clean and look after my teeth. It was only until my teens that I wanted too. But by then my teeth weren’t so great. Over the years I’ve lost teeth. And now my front teeth are rotting from the gums. I’m so ashamed and embarrassed. And I feel my confidence draining away. Not even being able to smile. Even holding a conversation is getting hard as I don’t want everyone to later be talking about my teeth. Is there anything you can do to help me and put a big happy shining smile on my face please? I would be so grateful.

Hi Marcus. My teeth are badly decayed that it’s got to the point that I cover my mouth when speaking and I am terrified of the dentist due to a bad experience. Even my children are embarrassed by my teeth. They started decaying when things went wrong in my life. My teeth are making me depressed I won’t even have a photo taken. I won’t even take or pick my little girl up from school in case someone speaks to me that I don’t know what to do please help.

Hi Dr Patel. I am a 29 year old mum of 4 and when I fell pregnant with my son my teeth just started to rot and some even fell out. I have lost all confidence and avoid social gatherings as I have discoloured teeth along with some missing. My husband complains that I never smile. I would love to surprise him with a new smile but I will be completely straight with you I have £1000 and need a complete smile makeover. Do you know how I can get help with this? Hello Dr Moore. I need 8 veneers but cannot afford the 3000 pounds it costs to get them. Do you know where can I get help and whether a student dentist could do them? My top 8 teeth are rotting away, this is due to not taking care of them and it’s also because my family have all had weak teeth. I have lost most of my confidence due to this. Hi Dr Hughes. I wanted to ask you if you know of any other ways to broaden my smile . I have already paid £3000 for braces, where my orthodontist decided to pull 2 of my teeth out from my upper mouth, when I specifically said I want my mouth broadened. It was still very much concave when I had them taken off and my bottom teeth are still a mess. I’ve had veneers on but my back teeth are still shadowed. You can probably see 6 teeth at the most and my teeth are still very small even with the veneers. I am very self conscious and I still hate having pictures. Is there anything that can be done?

Hi Dr Riten. I have lots of broken teeth at the back and some are missing. I have not gone to the dentist for years as I’m so embarrassed about them. They started getting bad after I had my first child I now have 6 children. I have been in a relationship for a few years and I have never kissed him, also I don’t really talk to people as I don’t want them to see my teeth. When I do have to talk to people I put my head down. I’m 35 years old. I’m so depressed and down and to be honest I find it hard to be happy any more. I don’t know what to do. Hello Dr Hughes. I am 63 years of age and have wore a denture since I was only 12. I had my front three teeth taken out after they had discoloured after banging into a lamp post. In those days that’s what they did. Through wearing a denture all this time my other top teeth are in bad condition. I suppose at my age it is probably a waste of time doing any thing much, but emotionally I have had my fair share of misery regarding my teeth and I need to some expert advice. My question is that when I smile my upper gum shows and I always smile covering with my hand and I lose the confidence to smile with anyone, please kindly advise me on what the solution is?
