I Want Natural Looking Cosmetic Treatment. Do You Know How I Can Achieve This?

Thursday, June 26th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Moore. I recently had a faulty dental procedure on my upper anterior teeth and I am extremely anxious and disappointed with the outcome. To explain what happened:
I had an extremely small cavity between my front upper anterior teeth whose fillings have been changed over the last couple of years because of staining. Approximately five months ago, I asked the dentist to redo that filling but she couldn’t acquire the right shade after three attempts. I was travelling for work the next day and I visited another dentist that was referred to me by a friend. This dentist literally sawed deep into my teeth, and after creating a deeper cavity, filled it and my teeth began to look bigger. So I went back to my original dentist and she removed the excess filling. While performing this procedure she chipped off a portion of my teeth.

I finally went to a cosmetic dentist that then refilled and bonded the chip but my teeth look big and bulky and artificial which has left me depressed and extremely sad. I had perfectly normal and natural teeth but this is the outcome. I would like to find out if you can help me achieve my goals at a reasonable price? How do I get this problem fixed before another dentist ruins my teeth. I don’t like the look of artificial teeth and the shape of my teeth. Please help.

Hi, I Suffer From Bulimia And Tooth Erosion. Would Cosmetic Bonding Be The Ideal Treatment To Fix My Chipped Teeth?

Friday, February 14th, 2014
Q.

Hi, due to my Bulimia I have some damage to my two front teeth there is a small gap at the bottom due to chipping and the edges have become slightly ragged. I wondered if an application of resin and tooth bonding would fix this? I had perfect teeth but due to my illness I can’t help but feel reminded every time I brush my teeth in the mirror of my eating disorder. My dentist is unaware of this disorder however has noticed my enamel erosion and suggested a course of resin may ‘erase’ the chips. Thanks, your advice would be appreciated at this time.

Help! I Chipped My Tooth After A Root Canal, And Now I Get A Horrid Taste In My Mouth. What Are My Options?

Friday, August 23rd, 2013
Q.

Hi, I need help. I smashed three of my top front teeth out 15 years ago when I was 15, now I am older I am self conscious about the way they look in the mirror. I had a root canal done which was very painful and then I chipped two of them not long after the root canal treatment. Now I think they are a horrid colour and look mouldy. I brush, rinse, and floss every day and try to take as best of care of my teeth the best I can. Do you have any suggestions on what my options are these days? I was thinking that should I get them pulled out and replaced them with false ones. I also get a horrid taste in my mouth. Please help I am at my wits end! Thanks for your time, I await your answer.

How can I get my sons tooth permanently fixed?

Friday, April 19th, 2013
Q.

Dr Patel

My 8 year old son chipped the corner of his (adult) front tooth yesterday. We still have the broken piece of tooth.

What are our options for repairing this? We have him booked to see his regular dentist tomorrow to check that everything is OK but we’d like something that is relatively permanent while understanding that his teeth may still be moving and will get a little longer over the coming years.

Your are relatively local so were considering a visit if you can help! I would be very happy if you could give me some help and your opinion on this. Kind regards

I am concerned that if my chipped tooth is fixed then my orthodontic retainer won’t fit any longer, would this be the case?

Q.

Hi Mark. About 6 months ago I chipped a small part of the inside biting edge of one of my front tooth and it still hurts which is a concern. The chip isn’t major or visible from the front, only if you look under it at the inside of the tooth but I would like to get this fixed. I also have had orthodontic treatment and it has been going very well. So I am very concerned that if the chip is fixed then my orthodontic essix retainer won’t fit any longer which would mean I would need a new one, which again means more money! As I am in easy access to you, is this something that you could look at for me? It is the fact that it still hurts that bothers me so much. Is there anything you can recommend to help minimise the pain? Many thanks.

I went to have my chipped tooth repaired but my dentist said it doesn’t need treating, how can I insist that he does something about it?

Q.

Hi i have just chipped my front right tooth on a glass. its only very small but its left a jaggery line which looks awful. I am really bothered about it. I also went to the my dentist about a chip in my bottom tooth a few months ago which is not as noticeable as its on the bottom and he charged me £17 just to say no it did not require treatment. I refuse to pay that again just to hear those words. I really need this fixing. How can I insist he does something about this? Surely its not too much hard work. All he seems to say to me whenever I go is that my teeth are better than most and I should be grateful. This isn’t the right attitude surely? I thought preventative dentistry was supposed to be the best way, my teeth are only going to get worse if they are left like this!
