How Much Would It Cost Me To Get My Discoloured Bridge Replaced?

Thursday, March 6th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Moore. I have had a bridge for over 20 years, and it covers my 6 top front teeth. I’ve always thought they looked too big and false looking and now they are starting to look a bit discoloured which isn’t ideal. I am looking at getting them replaced. Would this be possible after so many years and what would be the cost of doing this? My own dentist always says there is no point, after all I’ve put up with them for so long but I am just not happy with them and I would like some advice from you if that could be at all possible. Thank you for taking the time.

Hi. I have a bridge at moment that as been in 23 years. It’s 4 teeth attatched to 2 capped teeth, and they have now got tooth decay and it’s been recomended that I take them out and have a denture. I’m not happy with a plate but what options are there and could you tell me the cost of other treatments please. The bridge is very loose and I’m scared of eating now in case it falls out. The teeth are at the front upper and I’ve been told the 2 teeth the bridge are attached to need to come out and I’m very scared.

Should I Pay Additional Money To Have Gold Beneath The Two Front Bridges, Given That I Am Seventy Six?

Wednesday, January 8th, 2014
Q.

Hello Marcus, I have had most of my upper and bottom rear teeth replaced by four permanent porcelain bridges; about twenty-one teeth total. I am presently having five of my upper front teeth replaced with two separate bridges. I am seventy six years old .My question is: Should I pay the additional money to have gold beneath the two front bridges, given my age? Also, what would the additional benefit be in terms of longevity of the teeth? I look forward to hearing from you.

I’ve Had Acid Erosion And Would Like To Know If A Bridge Is Suitable For My Missing Teeth?

Tuesday, December 17th, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr Moore, I am 30 years old and already have had 4 teeth extracted, this is largely down to acid erosion due to too many fizzy drinks and it’s left me with very little enamel left on my teeth. I am missing upper right 4 and 6 and upper left 5 and 6. I desperately want to fill these gaps and I would like to know if a bridge is suitable? Implants are really not an option for me at this time for financial reasons and I do not want to have to wear a denture at such a young age but I need to be able to smile again without a hand over my mouth. I look forward to hearing your advice. Thanks.

I Need Veneers To Match Up With My Bridge. What Kind Of Upkeep Do Veneers Need?

Tuesday, November 26th, 2013
Q.

I have a bridge as I broke my two front teeth when I was 10 years old if I wanted veneers what would I do about my front teeth so all my teeth look the same. What price would I be looking at for a full set of veneers. How many visits would I need? Also my bridge is nothing like my teeth were so how would I be able to get a perfect smile? What kind of upkeep do I need for veneers? Do I just brush them as my normal teeth?

The Treatment My Dentist Has Recommended Is To Put A Bridge In. Is This Right In Your Opinion?

Wednesday, November 6th, 2013
Q.

Hi Dr Shaffie. I had a severe pain in my left jaw. The dentist I visited said I have infection on tooth #19. He gave me antibiotics to take for a week. The pain is getting better but not completely gone. The treatment plan he proposed is to extract the teeth and put the bridge in. Would you say this is a good option? If so, does the bridge treatment have to take place immediately or can I wait for a month? What other options do I have available to me? I do not have any insurance to cover and I want to know if this process of bridging can be delayed? Thank you, I’ll await your advice on this matter.

My Dentures Make Me Gag, Should I Get Implants, Or Bridges? Also Is There Any Other Treatment I Can Consider?

Wednesday, October 16th, 2013
Q.

I currently wear a denture which constantly makes me gag and feel sick. I have two large teeth missing at the front of my mouth and a small one to the right hand side of my mouth. I was thinking of dental implants but know this would be extremely expensive and was wondering if a bridge including all teeth would be possible? I have a tooth in the middle and to the right and left of the spaces and was wondering also if these have to be porcelain as I already have a stained porcelain crown and don’t want another.
I would be grateful for your advice.
Many thanks.

My Father’s New False Teeth Are Wobbly, What Sort Of Price Am I Looking at To Get Them Fixed?

Friday, September 13th, 2013
Q.

Hi Dr Mark Hughes,

My dad had his front four teeth taken out and fitted with false permanent teeth. However, all four teeth are wobbly now and I think they may soon to fall out. He finds it hard to bite on certain foods in the fear it will all fall out sooner. I think they need to be replaced as a good job was not done on them in the first place. What sort of price am I looking at to have them re-done and can they be re-done?

Thanks.

After A Tooth Abscess, I Need Bridge Work. Have I Been Quoted A Reasonable Price?

Wednesday, August 21st, 2013
Q.

In December, I had a massive tooth abscess resulting in the loss of one tooth next to my top front tooth. On the X-ray taken the dentist also discovered what was a large (16 mm) hole above it and some loss of bone around abscess area. This hole has now shrunk and I’ve been told I need a top front bridge to fill the gap (porcelain). Also my dentist has suggested I need three veneers on the other side as one tooth is set back out of alignment with the others costing a total of £4200. I’m uncertain about this, does it sound about right or should is it sensible to get more quotes!

I Need Further Surgery After A Failed Root Canal. What Kind Of Cosmetic Treatment Do I Need?

Wednesday, August 21st, 2013
Q.

Hi Dr. Having lost a front tooth a while ago and a bridge covering the gap, I now need to have my other anchoring front tooth removed due to a failed root canal operation. If I opt to have an implant, how is this dealt with? I will have the second anchoring tooth ground down to accept the bridge – in other words I will have 2 missing front teeth and a post tooth that held a crown. I have several questions please, so that I can make an informed choice. The first is to ask, is it possible to have one implant so that a bridge can be refitted? My second question I want to ask is what kind of benefits are available of having a same day implant or is it better to wait? Also in the meantime what will be used cosmetically to cover my two gaps between my front teeth and post tooth?
