could I have a full denture before my ‘bone’loss resulted in my face changing shape

Sunday, March 29th, 2009
Q.
I have been wearing a partial denture for some 5 years and have been told by my national health dentist that I am losing ‘bone’ from my remaining teeth, I asked if I could have a full denture before my ‘bone’loss resulted in my face changing shape, and was told that under the national health I would have to wait until my teeth decayed or became loose before any action would be taken. I hate the way my partial denture looks and feels. Could you please advise Thank you

I have a grade 2 mobility I need to get root canal done. Can i remove the tooth?

Sunday, March 29th, 2009
Q.
Hi, I have a grade 2 mobility of UR5 following gum disease and bone loss. I need a root canal treatment on this tooth but due to bone loss there is high probability that I might actually lose the tooth altogether (according to my dentist). My question: could I ask for the tooth to be removed now, rather than waiting and would I still need a root canal? THankyou for your time in advance

there is not enough jawbone to do this proceedure without a sinus lift

Saturday, March 28th, 2009
Q.
I am a male 54 years old and need 2 implants on top jaw but I have been told there is not enough jawbone to do this proceedure without a sinus lift . What are the percentage chances of a sinus lift being 100% successful? If there are liable to be complications what would they be and how severe would they be ?

Is any technique that can implant or grow bone into the gums so implants can be attached?

Monday, March 23rd, 2009
Q.
Good evening Dr.Bohara My question is concerning the lack of bone structure in a person jaw and whether their is any technique that can implant or grow bone into the gums so implants can be attached. My wife was born with a cleft palate 53 years ago and her case is quite complicated. I do not expect an easy answer to my question but would like to know if there was any hope new techniques could improve her circumstances. Her main problems has been the lack of bone in her jaw / gums which has meant that no implants could be used so new teeth could be fixed. She has to wear a plate which goes across the roof of her mouth and attaches to her good surviving teeth. She has always been terrified that if these teeth decline and the plate could not be fixed to anything she could lose the power of speech. Is there a way that bone could be grown or transported into the gums so implants can be used etc. I have heard that cryatal can be used to grow a base so bone can then be grafted onto and into the gums but have never had this confirmed. Could please inform me if there is a technique that is now possible which could improve my wifes condition I would be grateful. Regards,

I was experiencing swelling in my top gum

Tuesday, March 10th, 2009
Q.
I am 53yrs old I attended the dental hospital as I was experiencing swelling in my top gum .After I had an xray the prognosis was not good . The dental nurse says there is a lot of bone loss on my upper jaw ,does this mean my teeth will eventually fall out ? I have had a lot of work done on my teeth ie,a bridge where the swelling is , porcelain veneer [2] front teeth .I have looked after my teeththroughout my life & to think I may end up with dentures is very daunting . I know that the bone structure is now going [what is the cause of this ] .The 2nd tooth next to the front tooth is starting to come lose because of the bone structure . What can be done & what would be the prognosis of this long term . thankyou

would an implant promote bone growth

Thursday, February 19th, 2009
Q.
Hello. I was thinking about the possibility of an implant to replace my very back upper molar which was removed about a year ago. Is this too late to stop the bones from receeding further or would the implant possibly promote bone growth?. Many thanks.
