Spots along my gum are really starting to hurt and even peel. What’s the cause and is it common?

Q. Hi, so I have a question regarding my gums. The gum spots where I had my wisdom teeth removed a long while back are really hurting. I noticed they are raw where they started peeling a little, and its really a pain to chew food now. My co-worker said she has had a similar issue. What could be the cause of this? Is this a common thing, or do I need to be concerned?,
A. Hello, Thank you for you enquiry, how long ago did you have your extraction? Was there any complications with your extraction? I suggest you have your dentist check the site of the extraction area incase there is a underlying problem. Extraction sites can take up to 2 to 3 months to properly heal over.
