Should I have my tooth rebuilt or extracted?

Q. I have an upper molar that had a root canal done many years about, late last year about 1/3 of the tooth itself broke off in pieces and I had a tempory seal/cap put on it. What would be the best solution now? remove the tooth or have it rebuilt? And the approximate costs of the options. Thanks in advance,
A. It depends on how strong the remaing parts of the tooth are. Your options would be restore the tooth and have a post crown, have the tooth removed or have a dental implant. The implant is probably the best option.
