My wife had fixed braces once, but doesn’t want them again. Would a removable brace work instead?

Q. Hello, me and my wife are considering treatment. My wife had braces as a child but one of her front teeth(1 of middle 2) has come forward just slightly out of align. She had fixed braces and doesn’t want to go through it again. Would a simple removable brace be able to correct this. What would be the best treatment? Many thanks,
A. Hi It sounds as invisable braces may be appropriate if it is mild crowding

The thing is ihad braces not that long ago and my dentist only took 1 tooth out (4th onefrom the right). My teeth have shifted to the right and making my left main front tooth be the prominant one and the other one is now at an angle notfacing straight. Ive heard that if you are removing teeh they should be equal on both sides so the alignment can be right? Im 26yrs of age and ive been trying to get this sorted by dentists but they have all been negative and now i am too scared to see someone about it incase they make my teeth even worse. Thanks

I am sure that my teeth have moved. I had a brace when i was 14 for 2 years and my teeth were perfectly staright when they were removed. I had a gum infection approx 6 months ago, and from this point i have noticed a significant change in the tooth next to my front left tooth. It seems to have rotated to a 180 degree angle. My dentist did not seem to be too worried about it, however i have issues with my teeth after spending so long as a child having them fixed and i know myself that they are moving. Is there a reason they this would happen and what can i do to prevent further movement? I am worried it has started to slowly move my other teeth.

Thannk you for your enquirty. Teeth have a tendency to move to there original position if you haven’t been wearing or giving any type of retainer. I would suggest you have a consultation with a Orthodontist or Cosmetic Invisalign Dentist.

Hello, I have a slight overbite and one tooth that is crooked and I’m interested in getting this corrected. However, I’m 25 and don’t really want to deal with having braces. I’d be interested in using Invisalign if possible and the price is right.

what is your opinion of invisalign over metal braces stuck to the teeth. I have a large gap between my front teeth which I would very much like closing, but I am not sure whether it would be as strong as the fixed braces to fix it properly. What do you think, would I be ok for treatment? thank you

After 7.5 years and 670 full Invisalign cases, I am of the opinion that if done properly, Invisalign is a s good as, if not better than metal braces for closing spaces.

hi would you save invisalign can do all the things a fixed brace can do? Im looking for treatmetn for my front teeth, which are gapped and stick out a lot and would prefer invisalign but obviously want the treatment that would give me the best results overall, do you think invisalign fits the bill? thank you

Hi there! from your description it sounds like “invisalign” fits the bill in your case! The best thing to do is to have your teeth assessed by a dentist who provides invisalign. If you are in our area, you can come in for a free assessment. Hope that helps!

Ive recently had 6 month braces fitted but im having trouble eating. Im in no pain, i just find it very awkward. Ive got to the stage where i just feel like getting them took off but obviously they have cost a lot of money. Even on the night of having them fitted, two of the brackets came off. What can i do to make it more comfortable to eat? At the current time i only feel like i can food such as yogurts Thanks

Have you been given any orthodontic wax? If not ask your dentist/orthodontist for some it ususally helps a lot. There’s also a product called ‘Gishy-goo’ that helps too… Best wishes

My second pair of alingers feel really, really tight. I’ve only had them on for the last 2 days but they’ve even caused my gums to bleed a little and am just a little bit worried. i am very thorough with my dental cleaning routine and brush, floss and use mouthwash, so it shouldn’t be that. Is there anything I can do, or will i just have to wait? thank you

It is normal for the new aligners to feel tight at the start, and it should ease off after a few days.
