My Teeth Are Crowded And I’m Uncomfortable With The Way My Smile Looks. Should I Have Braces?

Q.
Hello Dr Gambroudes. 12 years ago I lost an upper tooth when I was young. My other teeth came together to fill the gap but know I can’t smile in front of other people as I don’t feel comfortable with the way it looks. Now one upper tooth is too big compared to the others which are small. I think I need a gap filling through the use of braces. Can you tell me if this would help? I have never been to a dentist so I don’t know what to do really. Please provide me with information about what should I do. Thank you very much.

Hello and thank you for getting in touch with me. It’s is difficult to say whether braces would be suitable for your dental condition without seeing you in person. I would advise you to seek a consultation with a dentist who is experienced in solving complex orthodontic cases. As you haven’t been to see a dentist, it might me helpful for you to read up a little on the various treatments available and what they entail. This website has information on these. I hope this helps. Best wishes, Dr Marcus Gambroudes.
