My Teeth and Gums are in Poor Condition. What Can Be Done?

Q.
Hi, I would like to know what treatments are available for me. I have have no back teeth on the top and just my back ones on the bottom and they are rotting away. My front ones have small cavities in different teeth. I really need help and want some good news that there is something available for me. I’m really embarrassed and depressed about how bad I’ve let them get. I’m always getting sore throats and pains, and my gums are not feeling in great condition. If I don’t get help now I will have no teeth left very soon. I’m so insecure it’s draining my life.

Hello, thank you for your question. Your options to replace missing teeth are as follows:  dental implants, bridges (fixed or resin bonded or combinations) or dentures (sometimes also called removable bridges).  There are many solutions. My advice is to start at the beginning and see someone very experienced for a full examination and consultation on all your options. It’s also important to get an assessment on your dental health status as this must be very good or stable before and complex treatment should be carried out.

Kind regards, Mark.
