My Periodontal Disease Is Now Under Control. Which Treatment Will Make The Large Black Triangles Less Apparent?

Q.
Hi Mark, I have black triangles across my front upper teeth (incisors/canines) due to periodontal bone loss, some of them are large and noticeable when I smile. My periodontal disease is now being treated and is currently stable. Is cosmetic bonding a possible solution for making these black triangles less apparent? Are there any other methods for filling black triangles? Is there anything that can be done? Thank you for your time.
A.
Hello and welcome. There are quite a few possibilities. Cosmetic bonding, porcelain or composite veneers, crowns, and cosmetic gum replacements with either graft surgery or removable gum coloured appliances. A consultation with a cosmetic dentist experienced in such treatments and who can show you examples of all the options would be your next step. To get an excellent result requires quite a bit of skill and experience especially with bonding. Regards, Mark.
