My front teeth are wobbly is it possible to get my teeth straighten without affecting front tooth

Q. Dear Dr Bohara I would like to undertake cosmetic dentistry to straighten both sets of teeth. However when I was 13 I had an accident which resulted in trauma to my upper two front teeth. They both fractured at the root on impact of my fall and bent back in my mouth. I was taken to the emergency London dental hospital where they were able to push the teeth back into place. Two weeks later the nerve in my left tooth died and it was removed from the back during a root canal treatment. Unfortunately the dead nerve decayed and discoloured my tooth before it was spotted and removed and although I had some internal bleaching the tooth remains a yellow colour and has a very dead lifeless appearance. Both fractures are about two thirds of the way up the tooth and the top of the root fragments never fully fused back together with the rest of the tooth. I have the following questions; 1. Is it possible to have a brace fitted to straighten my teeth without subjecting the two front teeth to further trauma? (They currently wobble slightly if moved so I’m not sure if the root gives them enough anchorage to be moved) 2. Would it be wiser to opt for an implant for the two front upper teeth and then have a brace fitted during the healing process? 3. Is it possible to keep both teeth during the orthodontics? 4. Is it possible to whiten the “dead” tooth. 5. Are there any other options? 6. How much would this cost (ballpark)? I have been saving for treatment for a while but everywhere I enquire requires a paid consultation and I just want to know what the options are as I have already paid for two consultations which all required further paid consultations. I hope I have given you enough information on my case and really look forward to hearing back from you. Yours Sincerely

A. Hi

My answers to your specific questions, would just be unapproprite without an examination and therfore would not be helpful for you.

To answer the questions, an xray would have to be taken to see the prognosis of the front two teeth and see if they are salavagble. If they are not then this would lead into other treatment options i.e possible dental implants.
