My Dentures are Uncomfortable. What Can Be Done?

Q.
Hi. I have had all my teeth taken out on the NHS, except one wisdom tooth. The reason they were removed was my bone/gums were receding. I have been left with hardly any bridge to hold lower dentures, but my dentist has used a clip to hold the one remaining tooth. This is okay whilst it’s in but there’s going too be problems when I lose it. Both my top and bottom dentures are so uncomfortable, and my face shape has changed an awful lot.
Is there anything that can be done?
Thank you.
A.
Hello, thank you for getting in touch. You should now look into options to hold your dentures using implants. This can be anything from 2 to multiple implants and with several different denture or bridge options then (depending on your bone levels and your budget). Have a look at treatments such as “All on 4 ” as one of your options now. Regards, Mark.
