My dentist suggested implants for my infected root do i have an alternative?
Q. I had a crown fitted 20 years ago. My dentist tells me there is infection at the root and I need to have the tooth out. He has suggested an implant be fitted. Do I have an alternative?
A. Yes, you could consider a bridge but this entails drilling down adjacent teeth or a denture which will involve coverage of the gums and will require removal for cleaning.
