Is There Any Whitening Product On The Market That Can Brighten Up My Old Crowns?

Q.
I have heard that there are whiteners for capped teeth. My caps are pretty old, about 10 years. I have seen a periodontist and asked him if I should have the caps replaced and he said no. My caps are pretty yellow and I would like to have them lightened. Is there a way to do this? I really can’t afford to have the caps replaced, maybe a few, but it bothers me to smile, but I do because that is in my nature and I like to smile. I just wish I had whiter teeth. I know a lot of women and men whiten there natural teeth but what about us who have a mouth full of crowns? Is there no whitener in the market for crowns?

Hello and thank you for your question. It’s not possible to whiten crowned/capped teeth as they are made of porcelain. You should go through with your dentist the reasons why you are experiencing yellowing and they can hopefully offer you advice on how to prevent further staining happening. I hope this helps you.
