Is it safe to get my canines slighlty extended?

Q. Hello Dr Tennet. I have been into body modification for quit some time, I have many piercings and tattoos, along with some scarification and other mods. I was just wondering if it was possible, and what the long or short term complication would be of extending my canines just a little bit. http://www.edgeoftheworldclothing.com/images/fangssmall2.jpg About that size. I have an overbite that was never seen to as a child, but my canines are still quite close to the bottom ones, and my safety obviously comes before anything. I was wondering if it was a safe procedure, how much some 1 year – 2 year lasting veneers would cost, and whether you think it is a plausible scenario. Thank you for your time.,
A. Veneers lasting 1-2yrs is plausible, the rest of the details would need to be applied after a clinical exam. One of the possible problems will be the ability of the bottom lip to seal without getting trapped behind the tooth. A minimal tecnique may be to bond tooth coloured filling to the tooth surface as a trial before proceeding. Rob
