Is it possible to refix the existing crown? Is there a limit for the NHS charges for a crown?
Q. I FELL FLAT ON MY FACE A FEW MONTHS AGO AND MY FRONT TOOTH WHICH WAS CROWNED ABOUT 18 YEARS AGO WAS DISLODGED AND HAS DROPPED THE CROWN ITSELF IS NOT DAMAGED OR CHIPPED MY DENTIST SAYS I NEED A NEW CROWN £320 ON NHS IS IT POSSIBLE TO REAFIX THE EXISTING CROWN? IS THERE A LIMIT FOR THE NHS CHARGE FOR A CROWN?
A. If the cost is £320 it won’t be an NHS crown, probably a private crown. The crown can only be refixed if the tooth uderneath is healthy and doesn’t need any adjustment, which is unlikely if you’ve had it for 18 years.
