Is it normal to have had a crown break twice in three years and would any warranty exist?

I had a crown fitted in July 2007 and the post has snapped. This is the second time this has happened to me. Am I unlucky or is this a common occurrence? Also do these crowns come with any guarantee because I’m now facing a bill of £2500+ for an implant.

Teeth with post in are generally weaker. As for the guarantee this would be down to the dentist who fitted the crowns originally.
