Is An Implant My Only Option?

Q.
Had a crown for front tooth at least 20 it came loose after about 5 years dentist x-rayed it and refitted which was fine for about 4 years then infection showed up under crown dentist tried to get crown off but it would not budge so used cement to firmly fix it in place as said pulling it off could fracture tooth root. Had regular check ups and all has been well until I had an accident whereby I was hit in the mouth crown is now moving loose by the gum line. Old dentist now gone from practice but new dentist says he will do nothing and recommends implant. Is this only option?
A.
I would of course need to examine the tooth in question in person and see recent Xrays to be able to answer you with some conviction, but implants may not be the only option.

If the tooth has to be removed then a bridge or denture may be suitable. It may also be possible to save the tooth, depending on the depth and severity of the root fracture.

If you are concerned then you should go for a second opinion or ask the dentist again if there are any alternatives to implants

Regards.
