No a root canal isn’t alway required when placing a crown on a front tooth. However, every time a tooth is restored there is a chance that the nerve my get aggrivated and die. Your dentist should be able to advise you if this is likely to be the case.

I asked because after spending nearly 2000 Sterling both front teeth broke at the gum line within 4 weeks of treatment and now I am left with no front teeth.
When I went for treatment the only problem with the teeth was that they were very sharp at the ends and I wanted them rounded.
