Infection in teeth aftet root canal treatment

Q. My current dentist has started me on a treatment plan. today he has told me that as well as this plan i will then need another treatment plan at a cost of minimum £1400. I am shocked that what I believed to have been the entire treatment is costing me £1800 and now there will be a further £1400 minimum to pay later. The story starts like this I went to an NHS dentist they sent me to a consultant he advised exstraction of my two back teeth,or implants. I decided two implants would cost to much so was going to opt for one implant and an exstraction, as this would be cheaper. I went to a private dentist who told me that the best course of action was to try and save the teeth inspite of the large decay and infection that had eaten the bottoms of the teeth away and this whole treatment would cost £1800 this includeds 3 normal fillings. an implant would have cost about £2000 so I was happy with this. But now it seems that I will have to pay an un-exspected £1400 and I am also at the mercy of the infection not clearing up, in which case all root canal treatment leading up to this will have been a total waste of time. I hope this has given you enoughth information, could you please give me your exspert advice on this.

A. It is very difficult for me to give you exact answers without seeing you.  I would advise you speak to your dentist again. Root Canal Treatment is not always successful and depends on how strong your teeth are and the extent of the infection . I am sure that  your dentist would give you a reduction in price for any other treatment needed.
