I’m Worried That My Teeth Might Relapse After Braces Treatment. Please Let Me Know How Credible My Worries Are?

Q.
Hi,

I am 30 years old and got braces just 2 weeks back. My teeth protruded out very slightly – almost negligible and I had a fang which kind of hung on the top. I got braces so I could have a perfect smile. I have no trouble with pain but I am worried because now when I have put braces many people said I should not have done it at this age. Also, to make space for the teeth to retract, IPR was done on the front upper and lower teeth and I am now scared that even if the teeth move but go back to the same place even after using retainers, my teeth would be a complete mess, especially with the spaces that IPR has created.

Please let me know how credible my worries are. My dentist who put the braces told me mine was a very simple case and I might get over with it in 6 months.

Looking forward to the reply.

Thanks.

Hello, thank you for your enquiry. This is a very common treatment IPR when done correctly is very minimal compared to tooth removal which is still very common, when the teeth are straight you must ask your dentist for fixed and removable retainers to prevent the teeth from moving. Best wishes, Riten.
