I’m 62 and have been told i should have my teeth capped, is this necessary?

Q.
I am 62 and have 26 of my teeth left my dentist has said I need to start capping some of my teeth with the metal insert on about 9 of my teeth the front 4 upper and 4 lowerhave worn down because of a overbite, at my age is it worth doing any more than I need to do, I have no pain or problems with them, looking for a honest 2nd opinion, thank you
A.
Dear Enquirer,
I cannot give an accurate 2nd opinion without all the facts, ie clinical examination, xrays etc.
Please do bring your concerns to your dentist and ask for an explanation of the treatment. You are welcome to come and see me for a consultation where I can assess you independently.
