I would like to have veneers but fear they will break (I am a professional fighter) when in the ring. Is there a particularly strong veneer, and can you give me advice about receding gums?

Q. Hi im interested in getting veneers maybee 4-6 accross my top and 4 accross the bottom but im a proffesional fighter and worried that they might not be as strong as my own teeth and come out regularly whilst sparring and fighting. Just want your opinion and is there any particular type of veneers which are stronger than others and would be more suited to me? One more thing is there anything that can be done about reciding gums, or any advice you can give me to help against this? Thanks you very much.,
A. Porcelain / Ceramic veneers are very strong once there are fitted. You would have to have a mouthguard made to fit to your new veneers and wear it at all times when fighting / training. As for your receeding gums i would advise a consultation with a specialist Periodontist. I have a specialist at the clinic Dr Mark Howdle. Please feel free to contact the clinic for a consultation.
