I suffer from gum disease, but I really need braces. It’s so embarrassing. Is it too late?
Q. at the age of 12 i had 4 upper teeth and 2 lower teeth removed so that in time a brace could be fitted, i am now 27 and still no brace has been fitted and the gaps in my teeth are so bad that when i clean my teeth with tooth pick it smells awful similar to feces,i suffer with gum disease also, it is so embarassing, isthere anything a dentist could do? is it too late for a brace?,
A. As you have mentioned that you suffer from gum disease, this will need to be addressed before any orthodontic treatment is performed. I would strongly recommend that you see your dentist to discuss this who can then lead you in the correct direction- it is advised that you see a specialist periodonist who can deal with your gums initially.

You are never to old I know a couple people over 60 having their teeth straightened with invisalign braces and lingual braces you just need to find a good orthodontist
