I Recently Got New Crowns, But Now I Have A Lisp And They Feel Too Big For My Mouth. What Should I Do About This?

Q.
Hi Dr Hughes. I went to my dentist so I could get a great smile but now I don’t even smile now and I hate talking as I have a lisp. The dentist put your new crowns along the top but one of the crowns is blue/grey in colour and I feel my teeth are too big and bulky for me. I hate speaking as have a lisp, so now not only do I not have the perfect smile but I can’t talk properly now either. I went back to my dentist and he said – Oh, I think they are fine and that I was paranoid when referring to my lisp. I am very upset about this and I would like to know what can be done. Thank you in advance for any advice you can offer me.

Hello and thank you for writing in. I would advise you seek help and a second opinion from a very experienced and skilled cosmetic dentist or restorative dental specialist as soon as possible. They may be able to help you overcome this problem. I hope this advice helps you achieve the perfect smile. Best of luck, Mark.
