I’m only sixteen and I am worried about going to the dentist. I think I might need braces, but will I be able to get them for free?

Q. hi, i am worried about going to the dentist because ive never been to check my teeth and im 16 years old! i dont know if it is tooo late to get braces, my two central incisor are sticking out and two lateral incisor beside it are going the opposite direction and im finding it hard to smile because i am ashamed of my teeth. please can u advise me if i should go to the dentist? the second thing is if i were to get braces would it be free? i am 16 in fulltime education and my mother who i live with is unemployed. thanks in advanced!! look forward to your reply,
A. You should really register yourself with a dentist for a checkup. Your not to old to get to braces. You qualify for free dental treatment up to the age of 18. The waiting list can be up to 18 months to see an orthodontist so you do really need to register asap.
