I have just had 4 teeth removed, how long do I have to wait to receive dental implants?

Q.
how long do I have to wait after an exraction to have dental implants. I had four teeth removed about a month age and I would really like to have some implants as I can not cope with a denture. My tongue is now covered with small ulcers which I am using an appropriate mouth wash but I was told to keep the denture in place which is really uncomfortable. Most of my back teeth are now missing which means eating is a real problem for me. I was given a partial upper denture which I cannot wear because it makes me gag and a partial lower denture which is causing the ulcers on my tongue. I was told that I have to persevere with the dentures but I can not handle it. I am very aware of my teeth and am becoming very depressed over the lack of my back teeth. I have had 7 crowns put onto my front teeth but I have had a lower front tooth extraced hence the denture. Please can you help or give me advice what to do. I live in Aberdeen. Thank you

Thank you for your question.

It is very difficult to answer because I have not seen any radiographs etc. However, averagely around 2 months is enough time to place an implant after extraction. Maybe if you are feeling very uncomfortable you could ask your dentist to take further radiographs to see if it can be done any sooner.
