I have gum disease and was told I need surgery, do you think I need surgery for this?

Q. i was told i have gum disease and have a 4mm periodontal pocket and had scaling and root planning done this week but was told this may not be enough, i may need surgery, do you think i need surgery for this?,
A. Majority of times a 4 mm periodontal pockets requires treatment only by root planning.If non responsive , then surgery may be required.
